A crafty competitor, a wealth of knowledge, and a truly good guy. He was a fine ambassador of the sport and he will be sorely missed.

I had the good fortune to meet Parsons back in the early 70's at a small track here in Va, Franklin County Speedway. He was at the concession stand as a matter of fact. The fact that he took the time to carry on a short conversation with a teenager like me had me in complete awe. I was a huge fan from that day forward. I was also fortunate enough to see him race many times in the 70's and 80's. He was a gentleman in every sense of the word. The racing world has lost a truly great man. RIP Benny.

As having a lot of family in the foothill region over in NC. I know he will be sorely missed as will Bobby Hamilton.
