CS Nascar Racing '07 Contest
After all the fun had in the "2006 Chase for the Cup" last year, I decided it would be fun to do a mini-season/Chase race contest this year. This contest will span from February to November. There will be 15 mini-season races and the 10 Chase races. Please read the following before deciding to play.
This is to be a fun contest........so enjoy it and the race !! Feel free to post your disgust when your driver crashes on the first lap or runs out of gas on the last lap Mini-contests and additional bonus point opportunities may pop up from time to time.........so stay tuned If I make a mistake on scoring or something.......please tell me, I'm only human (and from Alabama) The prize: ![]() Five (5) - 5 cigar divided ziploc bags (but they will be full when they leave my house............) Any donation(s) to the prize pool will be accepted but not required. They would be used for mini-contest and to add to winner's take. __________________________________________________ _ 15 Mini-season races: Feb 18 Daytona 500 Daytona International Speedway Mar 11 UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 Las Vegas Motor Speedway Mar 25 Food City 500 Bristol Motor Speedway Apr 1 Goody's Cool Orange 500 Martinsville Speedway Apr 21 Subway Fresh Fit 500 Phoenix International Raceway May 5 Crown Royal Presents the Your Name Here Richmond International Raceway May 27 Coca-Cola 600 Lowe's Motor Speedway Jun 10 Pocono 500 Pocono Raceway Jun 24 Toyota/Save Mart 350 Infineon Raceway Jul 7 Pepsi 400 Daytona International Speedway Jul 29 Allstate 400 at the Brickyard Indianapolis Motor Speedway Aug 12 AMD at The Glen Watkins Glen International Aug 25 Sharpie 500 Bristol Motor Speedway Sep 2 Sony HD 500 California Speedway Sep 8 Chevy Rock & Roll 400 Richmond International Raceway 10 Chase races: Sep 16 Sylvania 300 New Hampshire International Speedway Sep 23 Dover 400 Dover International Speedway Sep 30 Banquet 400 Kansas Speedway Oct 7 UAW-Ford 500 Talladega Superspeedway Oct 13 Bank of America 500 Lowe's Motor Speedway Oct 21 Subway 500 Martinsville Speedway Oct 28 Bass Pro Shops 500 Atlanta Motor Speedway Nov 4 Dickies 500 Texas Motor Speedway Nov 11 Checker Auto Parts 500 Phoenix International Raceway Nov 18 Ford 400 Homestead-Miami Speedway This is the list of drivers to pick from for each race: A List: Pick 2 Drivers - One driver may be used a maximum of 4 times Matt Kenseth Jimmie Johnson Kevin Harvick Tony Stewart Jeff Gordon Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jeff Burton Kasey Kahne Carl Edwards Greg Biffle B List: Pick 4 Drivers - One driver may be used a maximum of 4 times Denny Hamlin Kyle Busch Mark Martin Kurt Busch Brian Vickers Casey Mears Ryan Newman Clint Bowyer Scott Riggs Martin Truex Jr. Bobby Labonte Elliott Sadler Jamie McMurray Joe Nemechek Robby Gordon David Gilliland Juan Pablo Montoya Ricky Rudd C List: Pick 2 Drivers - One driver may be used a maximum of 4 times Boris Said Scott Pruett Paul Menard Dale Jarrett Reed Sorenson J.J. Allmendinger ** A SINGLE DRIVER MAY BE USED A TOTAL OF FOUR (4) TIMES DURING THE 15 RACE SEASON ** This is the points structure (2006). I will use the '07 structure when the season starts and I see a good list on a site or paper Position Points Position Points Position Points 1 180 16 115 31 70 2 170 17 112 32 67 3 165 18 109 33 64 4 160 19 106 34 61 5 155 20 103 35 58 6 150 21 100 36 55 7 146 22 97 37 52 8 142 23 94 38 49 9 138 24 91 39 46 10 134 25 88 40 43 11 130 26 85 41 40 12 127 27 82 42 37 13 124 28 79 43 34 14 121 29 76 15 118 30 73 BONUS POINTS WILL BE APPLIED THE SAME - LAP LEAD, MOST LAPS LEAD, AND WINNING RACE Basically, pick your drivers carefully and end up with the highest cumulative points total possible each week The deadline to pick drivers for the race is one (1) hour before the green flag drops each week. I will try to post reminders around mid-week and on Saturday (Friday for night races that fall on Saturday). The picks must be PM'd to me. No PM = No pick = 0 points !!! I will post each player/driver pick/standings the following week. __________________________________________________ Once the 15 race season is over, the top 12 in points will become eligible for the "Chase" The "Chase" follows a different format: - Only one driver may be picked each race - A driver may be used a maximum of two (2) times during the final 10 races During the "Chase" the point system will be the following: Position Points 1 12 2 11 3 10 4 9 5 8 6 7 7 6 8 5 9 4 10 3 11 2 12 1 IF YOUR DRIVER DOES THE FOLLOWING, BONUS POINTS ARE: QUALIFY ON POLE 1.0PTS LAP LEAD 1.5 PTS MOST LAPS LEAD 3.0 PTS WIN RACE 5.0 POINTS **** WHEN WE APPROACH THE END OF THE MINI-SEASON, I WILL START TO GET THE CHASE FORMAT SET UP AND FINALIZED **** __________________________________________________ ___________ STILL INTERESTED...................DOES THE ABOVE MAKE SENSE ????? I will try and limit this to a 30 person field. So first come, first serve..................
