CS Nascar Racing '07 Contest

After all the fun had in the "2006 Chase for the Cup" last year, I decided it would be fun to do a mini-season/Chase race contest this year. This contest will span from February to November. There will be 15 mini-season races and the 10 Chase races. Please read the following before deciding to play.

This is to be a fun contest........so enjoy it and the race !!

Feel free to post your disgust when your driver crashes on the first lap or runs out of gas on the last lap

Mini-contests and additional bonus point opportunities may pop up from time to time.........so stay tuned

If I make a mistake on scoring or something.......please tell me, I'm only human (and from Alabama)

The prize:

Five (5) - 5 cigar divided ziploc bags (but they will be full when they leave my house............)

Any donation(s) to the prize pool will be accepted but not required. They would be used for mini-contest and to add to winner's take.

** A SINGLE DRIVER MAY BE USED A TOTAL OF FOUR (4) TIMES DURING THE 15 RACE SEASON **

This is the points structure (2006). I will use the '07 structure when the season starts and I see a good list on a site or paper

Position Points Position Points Position Points
1 180 16 115 31 70
2 170 17 112 32 67
3 165 18 109 33 64
4 160 19 106 34 61
5 155 20 103 35 58
6 150 21 100 36 55
7 146 22 97 37 52
8 142 23 94 38 49
9 138 24 91 39 46
10 134 25 88 40 43
11 130 26 85 41 40
12 127 27 82 42 37
13 124 28 79 43 34
14 121 29 76
15 118 30 73

BONUS POINTS WILL BE APPLIED THE SAME - LAP LEAD, MOST LAPS LEAD, AND WINNING RACE

Basically, pick your drivers carefully and end up with the highest cumulative points total possible each week

The deadline to pick drivers for the race is one (1) hour before the green flag drops each week. I will try to post reminders around mid-week and on Saturday (Friday for night races that fall on Saturday).

The picks must be PM'd to me.

No PM = No pick = 0 points !!!

I will post each player/driver pick/standings the following week.

__________________________________________________

Once the 15 race season is over, the top 12 in points will become eligible for the "Chase"

The "Chase" follows a different format:
- Only one driver may be picked each race
- A driver may be used a maximum of two (2) times during the final 10 races
During the "Chase" the point system will be the following:
Position Points
1 12
2 11
3 10
4 9
5 8
6 7
7 6
8 5
9 4
10 3
11 2
12 1

IF YOUR DRIVER DOES THE FOLLOWING, BONUS POINTS ARE:
QUALIFY ON POLE 1.0PTS
LAP LEAD 1.5 PTS
MOST LAPS LEAD 3.0 PTS
WIN RACE 5.0 POINTS

**** WHEN WE APPROACH THE END OF THE MINI-SEASON, I WILL START TO GET THE CHASE FORMAT SET UP AND FINALIZED ****

__________________________________________________ ___________

STILL INTERESTED...................DOES THE ABOVE MAKE SENSE ?????

I will try and limit this to a 30 person field. So first come, first serve..................

If you have any questions, please contact me and I'll try to answer it.

**** Tie - Breaker in case there is a tie at the end of the 15 race mini-season for the 12th position (hopefully we will not need this) ****

You must post this when you sign up to play

** EDIT ** or before the start of Daytona 500

Driver with most poles (name and #) -

Driver with most wins (name and #) -

Points leader at the All-Star break (Charlotte May 19) -

Points leader going into the last race of season (Richmond Sep before the Chase -

Car Manufacturer with most wins -
