Too bad, he's now officially in that Willie Mays-hung around too long zone. All this does is delay for another year the tough decisions Green Bay has to make about their future QB. Brett should give Joe Namath a call and find out how his body feels after too many years of football pounding.

No it doesn't!

You are way off key sir!

It gives them the best opportunity to advance to the play offs. Otherwise it would be another 3-5 years to regroup and get on the same page.
And when you still have an arm, guts and talent like his it would be best to still be in it. This is the best group of teammates he's had rallye around him since they went to the SB.

Re: It's Official!

Favre can still play. He has a bionic arm. Does he make boneheaded mistakes? Yes. He always has and always will. This is Brett. Leave no bullets left in the chamber.

I think he did quite well this past season with all the new rookies. It takes time for teams to gel and players to be on the same page at once. Next year should be better. Nothing make a qb look worse than a green receiver running the wrong route that results in an int.

The Packers are loaded with cash under the salary cap. They can just about spend to their hearts content to put the best team around No 4 for the upcoming and possibly his final season.

Favre washed up? Hardly. He will be retired for good long before he's a liability to the Green Bay Packers.

The older he gets the more mistakes he makes. Hey if you cheeseheads like him, that's fine. They were easy pickins for my Patriots this past season and will continue to be easy pickins for any quality opponent.

Maybe, maybe not. Since this is a team sport, I'll wait to see what sort of team they put together.

Re: It's Official!

I am a Pats fan, but a long-time fan of the Packers and Brett. Six years ago when I was the MA state commander for my veterans organization, we had our quarterly meeting in Green Bay. If I had to move from my current home, I would move to that city. My hopes for the Packers is that they either draft a new quarterback or take someone like Vick's backup in Atlanta and take one or two seasons to have Brett teach him the Packers' way. Hate to say it but Brady's backup would also be a great pickup for the Packers. Good luck to Green Bay and I will enjoy it when Brett makes the Hall on the first ballot. Best of luck next season. I agree. Favre is still a quality quarterback, but some of the passes he tries to make are just mind boggling. They went into Buffalo this season and my Bills beat em by 2 touchdowns. And it really wasn't even that close. Hopefully he doesn't let things get to the point where he's just embarassing himself. cheers
