I was watching the the NFL Combine last night and they were talking about good ol' Mr. Heisman himself Troy Smith. They were ragging him saying he was sucking in the combine and they think he'll be a 3rd round pick! Amazing!

he is a 3rd round pick, hell i'm even surprised that they are still holding Ginn Jr so frickin high. Their saying Top 10, hell he'll be lucky enough just to be able to run at the OSU Pro Scout Day March 10.

Broncos

Need pass rushing lineman, a better RB than they have, depth at safety and wideout, and special teams help. Between free agency and the draft they need to address the first two for sure.

Here is the NFL Draft site:

I look forward to Pittsburgh doing well. I am curious how Miami will do though, and who they will draft.

My condolences on the Broncos loss here with Damien Nash. I hope they will do well this season without him.

Re: 07 NFL Draft Thread

Eagles....as far as I'm concerned they made a huge mistake not resigning Jeff Garcia. I think they are trying to avoid any controversies next year - that is sensitive Donovan has a bad game and the compassionate Philly crown immediately breaks into "Garcia, Garcia" chant, and mama McNabb gets mad...what a mess it could have been...lol

Anyway, we need WR too. Looks like Stallworth is going to walk (Rosenhaus is looking to get him 7 yr 60 mil with 18 mil up front? All that for 33 catches last year? I'm in the wrong business)

May need a new coach too - not convinced Andy Reid isnt going to walk away after the mess his boys got in.

Been watching the combine too - Troy Smith does stink - he may not even be good enough to make a squad. The Penn State linebackers kicked butt today.

Re: 07 NFL Draft Thread

Yeah, Calvin's stock has gone WAY up after his performance.

On a side note, does anyone else feel that the combine doesn't hold much weight? I mean, with a lot of the known top draft picks either holding private workouts or school-sponsored workouts, the combine is just a Wonderlic test & bench-press competition. Sucks... I guess too much money involved to have your guy lost in a sea of other potentials.

I dont know - I've been watching it from time to time and Dick Vermeil's comments seem to point to the fact that the combine does hold weight. I'm not sure the bench press reps means a hill of beans, but those agility drills can certainly expose some of these players.

Maybe these drills help teams make the middle round picks - looking for athleticism.
