Re: 07 NFL Draft Thread
Because they had a pip-squeak at qb...I have seen plenty of over the middle catches by him in highlight reels. He is a gamer, in my opinion.

Re: 07 NFL Draft Thread
The next highest dude had a measly 39 catches, the one after that had 12. If they did not "showcase" him , then they were pretty good at using him as the "decoy"...

Re: 07 NFL Draft Thread
I'm a Steeler fan, and I also think they will go "D" with their #15.
The talk around town is: Lawrence Timmons, OLB, Florida State Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville Paul Posluszny, LB, Penn State or Local Favorite Darrelle Revis, CB, Pittsburgh I'd be happy with any of the above (but I hate Penn St). If they go "O" I'd like to see Levi Brown, OT, Penn State or Marshawn Lynch, RB, California

Re: 07 NFL Draft Thread
The Free Agency season officially starts tomorrow. This will help flush out the directions teams will be leaning towards come draft time.
A juicy little NFL rumor that is currently making the rounds - Oakland has offered R. Moss to the Packers for its first round draft choice. Green Bay countered with Aaron Rodgers.

Re: 07 NFL Draft Thread
With the Jake "the crybady" Plummer fiasco, I gotta believe Houston is looking to draft Quinn with the 8th pick. A middle round pick for Plummer. You gotta think Houston would do that if they wanted him. Plummer to Houston has been rumored since Plummer lost his job to Cutler. Either way, I would not touch Plummer with a 50' pole now.
P.S. I don't know where the above mock draft came from, but I don't like. Olsen has to slide to the Bears. ![]()

Re: 07 NFL Draft Thread
Well you see I'm hoping the my Lions take Brady Quinn, don't know if thats a good idea though. Calvin Johnson looks intriguing, but seriously another WR. OT Thomas could be a good pick, always need offensive line help. In the end maybe they could trade the pick for the two first rounders that the Patriots have. Then the Pats could take Calvin Johnson and the lions could get a couple of good players to fill all the other holes they have. You never know what Millen has planned, we'll see if he can't screw this draft up.

I don't care how big and strong he is, he's Daunte Culpepper/Donovan McNabb all over again. Guys built like linebackers and DE's don't make good quarterbacks. Both of the above have serious accuracy issues and are too bulked up to have fluid throwing motions. Find me a Super Bowl winning quarterback who can't touch his elbows together!
I am NO Notre Dame fan, but Brady Quinn will be a vastly superior pro to Russell, no doubt in my mind. Especially after two years with Charlie Weiss. He's the most ready to step in and play day one. I predict a bleak career for Mr.Russell |

Re: 07 NFL Draft Thread
[quote=FlyerFanX;790764]Eagles....as far as I'm concerned they made a huge mistake not resigning Jeff Garcia. I think they are trying to avoid any controversies next year - that is sensitive Donovan has a bad game and the compassionate Philly crown immediately breaks into "Garcia, Garcia" chant, and mama McNabb gets mad...what a mess it could have been...lol
Anyway, we need WR too. Looks like Stallworth is going to walk (Rosenhaus is looking to get him 7 yr 60 mil with 18 mil up front? All that for 33 catches last year? I'm in the wrong business) May need a new coach too - not convinced Andy Reid isnt going to walk away after the mess his boys got in. The Eagles DO need a new coach and a new QB. Reed is too stubborn to change his ways, McNabb too much of a princess to have enough talent around him and too much of Andy's mouthpiece to complain about the lack of viable targets. Jim Johnson's defense has been figured out by every freaking team in the league now. As always happens, remember Buddy Ryan's vaunted '46 Defense'???? Sooner or later the 'O' catches up and dominating defenses get burned and by the time they realize they are no longer ahead of the curve, they are too old. Hate to tell all the Iggles fans out there, but, your window has closed. McNabb is done, 3 years, 3 injuries from a guy strong as an ox??? And let's not even talk about his issues with his Mama and having anxiety attacks on the field. Burn it down, now....start again. But, what does it matter? They are from Philly and will NEVER win anything. Just like every other Philly sports franchise. Big market town with small market management. |
