However the draft goes, one thing is for sure...

My Falcons will screw up their pick by drafting someone who will eventually show that he sucks.

If the reports are correct that Russell can sling a football 60 yards down field while on his knees...then, perhaps the Raiders would be a good choice for them, because, that's probably where he'll be spending a lot of his time!!!

Re: NFL Draft thoughts

yea it true, sometime in the middle of last season, someone was interviewing him while he was sitting down in the endzone of LSU's practice field. A stray ball comes his way and he takes it and sitting down, throws it about 50 yards.

Re: NFL Draft thoughts

What draft? With Houston trading away their draft picks, I'm not sure what direction we'll be going this year in the picks we've got left. With a much improved defense last year, I'm hoping we'll focus on an O-line to protect our highly paid once-2nd-string QB so he won't turn into another David Carr. Though, 10th in the 1st round, nothing in the 2nd round, and 8th in the third...I'm not sure where we'll be when it's all said and done.

Did I mention that we don't have a 2nd round draft pick next year either?

just think if your team would've taken reggie bush what your team would look like with the 10th pick and all those DE's that should be available this year?!

they should take an "impact" player with #10 (and hope they get it right, unlike last year), and then look at OL in the 3rd (still will be plenty left over that could come in and possibly start, if not be a starter next year).

But I don't wanna think about what would have happened had we taken Reggie Bush!

Drafting anyone in the 1st or second round is a crap shoot. So many factors that are beyond football determine an athlete's worth ie: managing money, managing women, managing friends, and other "good stuff" that comes with being young with large bank accounts. Then there is the on the field stuff. learning a new system some "ahole" offensive or defensive coordinator put together that may or may not match your skill set. Teammates not everyone on the so call "team" wants you to succeed. so forth and so on

Only thing for sure in this draft is that the Texans will blow it.

For those of you who are keeping count, we just released out first ever #1 pick ( David Carr), and no Reggie or Vince from last year. Aside from Andre Johnson, and Dante Robinson, we have never made a good first round pick. And the second and third rounds have been even worse!

except last year when you took the defensive rookie of the year, DeMeco Ryans, who's been a stud LB for you at the 2.1 spot.

i dont understand the cutting of Carr, dude was good when he had protection (which did happen from time to time). he's got talent. would've been nice to have a RB back there as well (like r. bush).

They wore his confidence out. He may be able to play his way out of it Plunkett style somewhere else.

Re: NFL Draft thoughts

bump this thread back to life

Draft is a week and half away. Most mocks have the Bears going for an OL at the end of round one or with their pick early in round 2. I have no problem with that as their line is good, but a couple guys are getting old. Bears also need a OLB to take punk-a$$ Briggs' spot. Bears could also use some help in the secondary, D-Line, WR and TE spots.

Draft weekend gives me a good excuse to spend the weekend in the garage doing spring cleaning and giving the car a good clean and wax job.

Of course as Falcon fans, we are used to that.
