What a kind gesture, my friend.

I watched the match from start to finish. Thought we had it won in ET. So close.
I'm definitely going to have to DVR the final.

Well, ya know, I figured if anyone wanted to watch it without knowing the result, it'd be you bro! I figured when you saw who posted the thread, you'd know what it was about!

Glad you could watch it... my heart is still racing! Time to drink some more red wine!

Nice win for Liverpool. Watched the last 10 mins and PKs down at the pub with some Lpool fans. Heading back there for United today. I would love to see a Utd/Liverpool final.

I think AC Milan will have something to say about Man U's chances of going to Athens. And I certainly don't think we will see a 1-nil result. I like Milan's chances. We'll see.

Oh heck yes.

Unbelievable handling of a very good-on-their-day side in Manchester United. Looked like men against boys there for 70 of the 90. San Siro was alive, you can smell the want-to of this team. The outclassed a classy side by a long shot, better skill, harder tackling, determination without equal. Great game.

It's been a hard season for Milan since before it started, unfairly from what I know of everything. I hope we take what's coming to us in Athens. I think it's very doable. As it was 2 years ago Good luck pudlians

Hmmmm.... unfairly isn't the word I'd use.... lucky.... being involved in match fixing and referee 'tampering' and getting a points deduction, while Juve lose two league titles and lose all their players after getting relegated.... looks like ya'll in Milano own more than just referees...

That aside... bring 'em on! The Kop faithful will be in force in Athens...

Sorry, yayson, I have to agree with my colleague from Jerkwater.
Milan was fortunate to get off lightly.

Won't matter though. A good year for them finishing second in the Champions League.

Re: pnoon, don't open if you don't want to know the result...

Moggi is a bastard and the evidence against him ref tampering on behalf of Juventus is fully documented. Moggi has nothing to do with Milan, he was with Juve remember? I have listened to a lot of the recording of Moggi's phone conversations and there is no doubt the man's a snake. Again, nothing to do with Milan.

The only evidence I ever saw presented against Milan was a joke in passing between a ref and a former Milan player who now works in the front office. The two happen to be friends and I still wonder how they managed to put enough weight behind that one instance.

Such an emperical statement as "looks like ya'll in Milano own more than just referees" is a little insulting, especially based on the almost completely irrelevant article posted as supporting evidence.

The contrast in punishment between in Juventus and Milan is a good thing fellas. Milan's sentence is still heavy in my opinion based on the evidence I managed to dig up at the time. Lumped in with some really bad company.

Re: pnoon, don't open if you don't want to know the result...

Yes, Moggi didn't conduct himself in a manner that promotes football, or is legal. And I know he has nothing to do with Milan.

Considering 2 current AC Milan players were/are under investigation (Jankulovski and Kalac) for the match fixing, I think the tenuous link you've suggested wasn't/isn't the only one. I agree that yes, Juve did deserve a larger punishment, but to say that Milan were unlucky... is it not kind of like saying someone was unlucky to get 3 years for dealing pot when the guy next door got 15 years for dealing crack? The evidence against them was obviously enough for the public prosecutor in Italy to go ahead with the case.

You know, my girlfriend and I argue about Bruce Grobbelaar's place in a Liverpool All Star line up... she thinks he should be in, I think he's a bung taking, match fixing wanker (Even if I do love him for everything he did playing for 'Pool, and having the best hometown ever [Durban, South Africa], he brought the sport, and his team, into disrepute).

Sorry, the jibe about owning referees was a joke, it wasn't meant seriously. Just the same as Chelsea owning the linesman that gave a distinctly onside Kuyt offside. I admit it was a bit of a cheap shot, but not one made seriously, as I said.

Article containing names of player under investigation for match fixing
Indpendant Newspaper article listing major accusations in the case against the 'Big 4'
A nice story about Bruce Grobbelaar

And Peter doesn't read The Sun, he just looks at the titties on page 3.

ehehee, petes likes boobies

Common ground, we can definitely agree that Grobelaar is a twunt!

I followed Moggigate until I completely wore out and the only evidence against Milan was what I reported in my previous post. I did however, as most rational people would, get sick of it and quit following it after while. I appreciate the links. Sounds more serious than the one piece of evidence I heard but it still really unclear. As it was then, it is now, the English language reporting of the whole ordeal was awful. I certainly hope that the Itlaian authorites base their judgements on more detailed and accurate facts. Surely.

Italian football has a very poor history where this issue is concerned. It's a shame, loads of talent and enjoyable watching to be seen, shame it's gotta be sullied with this kind of junk.

anyhow, back to the real matter at hand, Liverpool's destruction at the hands of the Rossoneri in Athens in a few weeks...

How's Liverpool clicking right now? I only catch Match of the Day now and then and haven't been keeping up with their form. I know they are a dangerous side with all the potential, just wondering what you guys thought of the matchup based on current form

mmmm Boobies.

As we all learned 2 years ago in Istanbul, ANYTHING can happen.
Based on what I have seen the past few weeks, Milan looks to be the slightly stronger side. If Liverpool brings anything less than their A game, they will get crushed. However, if they show up in top form, I think we will see a tremendous match. Milan's defense better be in top form because their GK Dida is just flat out horrible.

Two world class sides. Each are deserving but only one will be champion.
