Espn Sucks

So, my rant:
all of the men's college baseball regionals are on ESPNU or CSTV, which I don't get at home, but I got it at school. All of the women's softball games are on ESPN, which of course, everyone gets. There's no following for softball, so this pisses me off. There is really good baseball out there that we can't watch b/c ESPN is dumb. They won't have the men's games on until they get to the super regionals. How does this make any sense?

Because it's the women's world series. ESPN will show almost any championship no matter what sport. I would prefer to see FSU and MSU but that is just how it goes.

By the way. SC is doing well.

Yes they are indeed. They annhilated the team w/ the lowest ERA in college baseball, scoring more than 10 runs in both games. Hopefully, they'll keep it up. I'm glad to see MSU move on too. I'm happy now though, b/c I got to watch the games on cstv.com. That was a lifesaver.

I've been watching the softball - last night's game was incredible!

I don't watch college baseball - aluminum bats makes medicre hitters look like Tony Gwynn. When they outlaw them I'll be back on board.

The bats have really been toned down since the late 90's. They are pretty comparable to wooden bats these days. I believe they would switch if it weren't for the money from metal bat companies. IMO college baseball is still very exciting game especially when your team is still playing.

I try to catch a game a night. Fortunate for me my dad has satallite so we get CSTV. Love that channel so many great shows and good college sport action.

Girls have always used aluminum bats. They are not nearly as strong as the men and pitching dominates in softball.

As for mens aluminum bats being toned down - the only change has been they were made to go to -3 instead of -5. The engineering of these bats has come to a point where they are rediculous - the flex and trmpoline effect is actually dangerous and this is why there is a huge campaign right now to ban them all the way down to the little league level. I think the only resistance will be from the bat companies. They are no way even close to wood. That's why they don't use them in the pros - someone would get killed and homeruns would be absolutely rediculous.

Who are you for? And good luck to your team! Nothing more exciting - I played in 1979 and my college won the D3 World Series - good stuff!

It has happened on numerous occasions. I'll see if I can find write ups on it. Lisa Fernandez pitched to some of the biggest hitters and the result was - every one struck out.

71mph fastball from 43 feet is equivalent to about a 105mph fastball in reaction time. You can compute the feet per second. Throw in a change up that would buckle your knees, and a riseball at about 68-69mph and she made them look stupid.

Other great pitchers have also done these showcases - Michelle Smith, Jennie Finch, Cat Osterman...
