Times below are US eastern time (GMT-5).
This could not have been planned any better! If you like a good this is the match for you. Aw MAN! I am gonna have to smoke something NICE! This is the dream final! One of THE most heated rivalries in soccer (and elsewhere).* Gold Cup Final LIVE from Soldier Field in Chicago... USA vs. MEXICO Sunday, 3PM, FSC & Univision (FSC has got a pre-game show at 2:30 PM) o*from MSNBC... May 29: Mexican Studio Audience Booed Miss USA MEXICO CITY - Many here south of the border reveled in her disastrous evening: First Miss USA Rachel Smith slipped and fell on her bottom during the Miss Universe evening gown competition. Then she was booed by hundreds in the Mexican audience. The treatment of the Tennessee beauty queen was nothing personal. It had more to do with Mexico's sometimes tense relationship with its powerful northern neighbor. U.S. athletes have sparked a similar response. In 2005, when the U.S. played Mexico during a World Cup soccer qualifier, the crowd booed the U.S. national anthem and a smattering of fans chanted "Osama! Osama!" during the game. That last bit is seriously f*ckin' classless. This is better...Pro-US chant/taunt (again to the tune of Cielito Lindo): Ay, ay, ay, ay, Somebody stole my sombrero A dirty old rat, has taken my hat And now I have nothing to WEAR-O ![]() P.S. For those of you who still think Canada got screwed on Thursday night (I used to count myself among you), here's a brief article that outlines it beautifully, complete with a screen-shot showing DeRo clearly offside: http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/6951128

Re: Gold Cup Final: USA vs. MEXICO, Sunday 6/24
It was classless and I agree with you, but these are soccer fans, through out the world many soccer fans become so wrapped up in their team that they lose pretty much any intelligence they may have had. Soccer fans through out the world give a bad name to sports fans. When was the last time you heard of riots after a baseball, gridiron football or even a Rugby Football game. Nothing soccer fans do surprises me any more, remember "fan" is short for "fanatic" and soccer fans more so than most.

Yes, it has spread and it is unfortunate... that people get so wrapped up in a sporting event the resort to violence to celebrate a win...

I wonder how long ago this game sold out? Of the 66,944 seats at Soldier Field, I wonder how many will be filled by USA supporters. I'm sure it'll feel like an away game, but I hope there are at least a few American's in there. It's gotta suck for the US team, playing in front of a sold-out, pro-Mexico crowd in their own country.

Great win. Great performance. Even better than beating Mexico is coming from 1 down to beat Mexico. Do wish they could have put one of the easy goals in the back of the net.
Look forward to the next tourney as well.

![]() U.S. Men's National Team On The Rise! ![]() To sum up (culled from a couple different online newspapers)... Yesterday's match was the first time in 53 meetings dating from 1934 that the Americans fell behind Mexico, then came back to win. (!) The United States is 9-2-1 against Mexico since 2000, including 8-0-1 on U.S. soil. This is the fourth Gold Cup title for the Americans, tying them with Mexico. It also kept new coach Bob Bradley's perfect record intact at 10-0-1. The teams failed to shake hands after the final whistle, a new "tradition" recently begun by the Mexican squad. Instead, the Americans ran over to Sam's Army - really more of a platoon - to salute the small contingent of U.S. fans in the sellout crowd of 60,000. Donovan tossed his shirt into the stands, then grabbed a U.S. flag that a fan tossed and wrapped it around his shoulders. ![]() Coach Bradley's task gets tougher on Thursday, when he leads a U.S. team without most of its regular starters against Argentina at the Copa America, South America's championship. Can't wait! ![]()

Re: Gold Cup Final: USA vs. MEXICO, Sunday 6/24
At least Mexico stayed on the field after this game. Sure to get the medals, but the last few times they just dissappeared. The announcers said they were switching shirts, but I did not see a US player with a Mexican shirt at the end.
