Chris Benoit found dead.......

One of my all-time favorite wrestlers was dead about around 2:30pm today. His wife and son were also found dead too. Man this is heartbreaking! I think they are ruling it a homicide as of now, but who knows what the investigation can yield. Here's the link to the article:

Latest reports have him killing his family then himself.

Could be something about his wife cheating on him with his friend who "died" a couple days ago....

Re: Chris Benoit found dead.......

I dont follow wrastlen' but I just read an article about this, it said authorites believe the wife was killed Friday she was found with her wrist and legs bound, the 7 year old son was killed saturday, and he may have hung himself Sunday.. Bizzare, Both the wife and son had Bibles laying next to them.

The article also mentioned that the wife had filed for a divorce, and a restraining order at one time a few years ago, but dropped them both.

Sounds like this guy needed some serious help!

How could a person could kill there own child ?????

Sorry for sounding like an A-hole to fans of the WWE, but how can you do a three hour tribute to the career of someone who murdered his family, then didn't have the stones to face the consequences so he kills himself? Disgusting.

I think when they ran the special (Sunday Night) they had scant information about what happened. I don't blame them for running it, He was someone who they liked and adored in the business and they saw fit to pay tribute to him at the time. Was it wise in hindsight? Probably not, but still I find it hard to blame them to pay tribute to a colleague and friend.

I agree they did the tribute without knowing any details. Plus they kinda had their backs against the wall. There was a live show about to start when the news was breaking. It would have been in bad taste for them to go on as normal, especially with the way all of the other talent would have felt. They made the mistake of "the show must go on" when Owen Hart died in the ring and they will probably not make that mistake again.

So it is too bad that the show happened but at least they have pulled everything off the website and are no longer paying tribute to him

I was a huge fan and have somewhat of a personal connection but with all the details being know....anyone that kills his wife and child can rot in hell as far as I am concerned.

Just a sad story all around

I guess it was some clown who was posting speculation after Benoit missed the PPV. If does not seem to be anything sinister.

But Benoit is a scum. He was one of the best things about the WWE. He was a great in ring talent who could put just about anyone over. But to do what he did is just despicable.

I was very sad at first on Monday. I enjoyed watching the tribute show and seeing some great matches. But during the show I started reading the details of missing the house show and PPV I thought it looked like a Murder Suicide. Sure enough the next day it was. I cannot fault them for doing the WWE for doing a tribute show. In hindsight, it was a bad decision, but the Police decided to take their time releasing the details.

Re: Chris Benoit found dead.......

The news coverage on this is getting crazy. Last week, you could not turn on CNN without seeing Chris Jericho. I thought they had chosen him to replace Aaron Brown Last night Fox News had Lanny Poffo and Jacques Rougeau on to comment on the Benoit Tragedy. There is and undercard match that would have had the crowds lining up for a bathroom break before the next match. And of course, every former WCW wrestler who was not hired when Vince McMahon bought it has been on Nancy Grace. It is like a "Where are they Now" of wrestling. Though it seems most of them are night club bouncers in Atlanta. And you know it is bad when you turn on CNN to get the news on the London Terrorist Bombings and they are taking about a new twist in the death of Sensational Sherry.

Though I am holding out for a Special Nancy Grace where she interviews George The Animal Steele. Joining us tonight from Parts Unknown is George Steel. Is your Hairy back and green tongue a result of years of Steroid Abuse?

Though the WWE should be careful in the months to come. Rey Mysterio has been named in some of the steroid investigations linked to Chris Benoit. He is getting a big return push right now.
