maybe it's not the school but how the other teams players/coaches conduct themselves. i'm sure that AU has a good hoops team but the SEC is know for FOOTBALL, like the PAC 10.....Football is King with BBall the Prince but Baseball has slid to servant status. we tend to find TEAMS that similar to our own convictions(maybe this reasoning explains why i like the raiders and some others like the bengals...). thus, that's why we are FANatic bout whom we cheer for. IMO.

NFL: Patriots and Giants. The Giants were the NFL team of New England until 1960 and considering TV coverage then, they still ruled.

NBA: Don't care

NHL: Bruins

ACC: Boston College

SEC: South Carolina

nfl = cowboys...Pats did not have a following in maine back then.

ncaa = Irish and BC...that Catholic thing

I have been a fan of all of these teams since late 1960's and never changing.

Thanks for the reply coach. In response, Auburn does not have a good BBall team(by any stretch) but they're still my favorite because I'm an Auburn fan. I just seems if you pulled for a school in one sport, you would in another(strictly college athletics).

Also, while football is most certainly king, the SEC holds its own in BBall.
