Sorry...using Vista was a monumental headache. It looks really nice, but a bear to deal with. I even considered that the change needs to be looked at in a positive way. I tried for three months using my computer just about every day. I tried with a positive attitude. ut I had one issue after another...Vista is a resource hog and isnt compatable with alot of my software. I eveen upgraded my Office to Office Vista...Outlook sucked. Doesnt work in an a web based email application. Overall very dissappointed.

I moved back to Windows XP Pro. BEST MOVE IVE EVER MADE!!!

Im glad to be back to XP, I do miss the graphics and some of the conveniences of Vista, But WAY underweighed by the headaches.

Do you get the generic IE page that says you are not connected? Have you tried FireFox?

Not sure what you are getting at? Are you trying to enter the mail server, user name and password and it is failing?

I have a feeling this may be the catalyst for the deposing of Micro$oft, maybe allowing PC mfgs to start using other OS's, hell maybe even a MAC OS for PC (but I'd rather have linux)

Vista does suck right now. Wait about 4 years for them to work out the bugs and issue countless updates and it will be fine.

If you're in the computer industry you know to never run out and get the 'latest' anything, let alone an OS. But when you have to work for a living, and don't make the 'corporate decisions' you have to deal with garbage on a daily basis.

This text is from a Dilbert comic that was printed a few weeks ago - it speaks volumes.

Dilbert: "Why do all the decisions at my company feel like they are being made by drunken monkeys"
Garbage Man: "Because decisions are made by people with time, not people with talent"
Dilbert: "Why aren't the people with talent making the decisions?"
Garbage Man: "Because the people with talent are busy fixing the problems created by the people with time"

:errrr:

Vista drove me to buy a MacBook! I still feel dirty about it. I've been a loyal PC user for 10 years. However, it irks me that almost all of the new notebooks come with Vista, and that I have to 'downgrade' to XP just to maintain sanity. From what I've researched, Microsoft will only be supporting XP until 2011. I remember how disappointed I was when I found out that Microsoft was cutting support for Windows '98. Ugh, I don't want to deal with PC nonsense anymore.

Yeah! Welcome to the club. Support to 2011 is not bad. I would hope by then Vista will be better. Actually by then they will have released a new version of Windows. That dirty feeling will go away when you realize how cool owning a Mac is and how easy things are. Now to can understand how computers are suppose to work. Let me know if you have ANY questions.

Norton is frequently the culprit, and always a PITA. I've seen it prevent systems from connecting to the web AT ALL.
