Help playing .mp4 files

OK - I use Windows Media Player and I know that it doesn't support .mp4 files, but their support website states I can do something about it. However, all of the technical jumbo made my eyes dry over and I almost had a seizure. I googled for other sites to help explain what to do, but all of the filenames and codes just about took me into another seizure (not really, but I'm easily intimidated with scary-sounding filenames).

So - can anyone easily explain what I need to download so I can watch the Stogie Fresh and Dogwatch videos?

Thanks.

Haha, good point. I was just playing like an apple pusher ( = I'd imagine he is well aware that he could just download iTunes, if he WANTED that solution.

Bill,
Itunes and Quicktime will play .mp4 files. Do you have the latest (free) install from apple? If you want to view .mp4's, Itunes will play them (using quicktime technology). In fact, the download for itunes includes quicktime. The .mp4's that Doc is feeding are designed for itunes podcasting.

Anyway, the latest version of itunes is here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/

CD

If you just want to use Quicktime, you can download only that as well to watch .mp4 files.

I used iTunes, but my mp3 player isn't supported by iTunes (I use a Sansa). I may be a doctor, but I still like to save money.

I usually watch Doc's stuff on his website, so it's not necessary to watch it on my WMP, but I was hoping to be able to download it and save it so I can watch on my Sansa.

How big is the screen on the Sansa? My only knowledge is about the iPod that was a Christmas gift to me.

1.5 in x 1.25 in

The Fuze is a copy of the iPod Nano. Pretty much the same size and width.

Ha ha, you and me both, my friend! I've got an 80 gig iPod for music and movies/tv shows and the 8 gig iPhone for phone, contacts, a couple movies, photo slideshows/presentations, etc ...

I am definately not an apple fan, but I'll be the first to admit that the iPod is top notch/first class in simplicity and ease of use and compatability. I hate headaches, so I don't mind paying a little more to get something that I don't have to mess around with.

Sorry I'm not much help, ER Doc. But I really love my iPods!

Bill, converting the .mp4 files may work out. I use Handbrake on my mac, but the app is also available on windows too. I have not used it with windows before, but you may want to give it a go to see if it will convert for you. It is a great app on the mac is all I know... Check this and see if it will help:

Handbrake downloads
