Thumbs up Cool iPhone Applications

What cool iPhone applications do you have?!?

I am always trying out new ones. Some are kick a$$ and others I delete with the quickness.

What are a few of your favorites?

Mine:

Google w/ voice activation (You phone might already have Google on it, but it's probably not w/ voice. Google w/ voice is the $hit!

Shazam is killer! Put your iPhone up to the radio, a song on TV, in the elevator, or where ever and it will listen for about 5 seconds, analyze the sone, and show you the artist, the name of the song, the album cover, and more.

TextFree allows you to send and receive FREE text messages. So if you are going over your text limit, no worries. The free version allows you 15 per day for free, or you can pay a one-time fee of $5.99 and get unlimited texts. I've been paying A LOT more than $5.99 fr my overages each month, so it will more than pay for itself for that one-time fee.

These are free!

I have many more, but these 3 are my favorites....

Download the Google with voice.

Open the app.

Click on Apps in the bottom tray.

You will see a long list of Google stuff and the calender is there.

I just upped my text--took a look and I paid 10bucks overage last month (had the 200 for $5, upped it to 1500 for 15$). So I may give that one a try. That would save me 15 a month. May try out the shazam as well--always hearing a song on the radio I have no clue what it is but would like to have it. Thanks for those!

Jon, check out these 2 links.
Cell Phones: Google Sync Keeps Contacts and Calendars in Sync on Your Mobile Phone
Google Mobile - Sync

If it's from Lifehacker, (or google), I tend to trust it--haven't tried it yet myself though (it will knock out your contacts unless you back them up first--hit the "back up your data" on the right side, it'll tell you how).

A couple I use are mostly games: JirboJive, and VideoPoker (jacks or better) as time killers. One I use for school is epocrates Rx (free)--allows me to look up drug names/pharmacology/pill id, etc.

Wikipanion is another I have used everyonce in a while, but not all the time--allows you to search wikipedia (pretty nicely too!).

Re: Cool iPhone Applications

One of my favorite aps is really quite useless. It's called Rimshot! It's nothing but a button you push when you want to hear a rimshot sound. It's free, and comes in handy if you tell crappy one liners like this...

So, a baby seal walks into a club

*rimshot*

Re: Cool iPhone Applications

Shazam is my most used free app, I also like urbanspoon where you shake the phone and it randomly selects a restaurant nearby. It comes in handy as the fiance and I aren't the best at deciding where to eat.

Re: Cool iPhone Applications

I use the Facebook app a lot.

Pandora is an awesome app, too. It's free 'radio' but it sets up stations based on what you like and don't like.

FishingCal is one I use to tell me when the fishing should be good.

I also use Vlingo as a voice search app, but I'm going to check out the Google with voice.
