Can anyone help me out here?

The puppy took a couple of chomps on the laptop power adapter exposing some bare wires.

I am petty sure that I can splice and tape it back but it will look uuuuuugly!

Can someone reconnect these in a "professional" manner?

Thanks.

I have had to fix this same issue. Just expose enough of each to seal them up a limited amount of electrical tape and then use some heat shrink wrap to seal it all. It will have a bulge, but it should be serviceable.

Re: Can anyone help me out here?

I would recommend butt connectors as you will run a chance in pulling on the cord and I feel electrical tape will not suffice as good as the connectors. Once you use the connectors then use the shrink rap.

Hi Joe
is it the part that plugs into the wall and goes to a rectangle block?

The 6th photo down shows the concept of a staggered splice.

A Comprehensive Guide to Splicing Speaker Wire

If you have some, don't forget to install your shrink tubing first before splicing.
Also, soldering is vastly superior to using crimps.

If you want to ship it to me, let me know and I will give you my shipping address and take care of it for you. I have everything needed to do a pro repair for ya.

It is the wire from the rectangle box to the computer.

Re: Can anyone help me out here?

Joe! JOE!
What have you done?! My home is in ruins! My roof is on the floor!

Here is a photo of the ACTUAL BOMB!

http://www.puff.com/forums/vb/member...joe-zitro.html

He shelled me with a Leon Jimenez colorado robusto!
A classic H. Upman Ems corona!
A Rocky P. I-press toro!
A Graycliff 1666 torpedo toro!
A Padilla Hybrid churchill!
A Padilla Corojo special edition 2006 churchill!
A Gran Hubana Siglos 3 robusto!

JOE! My wife and cat are afraid to come out of the basement!

I don't HAVE a basement JOE!

I still can't speak from the shock of it all! I can barely type!

I had to get an I. V. unit of ale into me just so I could stand up!

Needless to say I have had to rent some shop space just so I could enact the needed repair on your transformer wire...

These are such beautiful cigars! Most of which I haven't tried and have been drooling over as I have read about them in the forums!

Thank you so very much Joe!

Humbly, Dafiddla

Re: Can anyone help me out here?

Heidi-ho Z-Joe,

I received your package on Sat. and sent it back out yesterday, which was monday. So hopefully your laptop batt can survive untill wednesday or at the outside, thursday.

They used an unusual combo of one jacketed conductor and one non jacketed conductor in the cable. That made it difficult to achieve a perfect round shape under the shrink wrap... but I did the best I could. It tested good @ 20 volts so we should be good to go.

The real challenge will be to keep your critter from chewing on it again. What do you think about rubbing some WASABI on the cable?

Here is the d.c. # 0308 2040 0001 1888 5293

Thanks for the joy Bro!

Well I wanted to delete this post but for some reason I can't edit it. I now remember that I was praising Fiddlegrin on getting bombed, so yes this does belong here. No I do not use drugs.

Yes as a matter of fact I was drinking some George Killian's Irish Red for the first time. I think I was 6 deep when I began to get confused....
