Have you seen the new LED TVs? Screen is like an inch and half wide. Freaking awesome, but new and pricey!

Re: Which TV would you buy? And Why?

After seeing some of the pricing you were looking at, and considering you have a plasma in the mix with the LCDs, there is no contest then at this point that a Pioneer Kuro Elite 50" plasma is where you need to be. None of the sets you listed can compare spec wise, and none accomplish the black levels of the Elite 50". The only thing you could consider is that the Kuros are going to be discontinued because Pioneer is getting outta the race. But that has absolutely no effect on the fact that the Kuro elites are top performers, best in blacks and are quality built.

I haven't checked pricing lately, but there may be deals to be found on these sets due to the "end of model" effect.

Do some comparisons, rate the Kuro Elite 50 against anything else, including reviews and then start price warring.

I have two plasmas, the Kuro 50 Elite and a Samsung 50, and the Pioneer wins hands down in available controls, pro adjustments and of course the best blacks in the business, which in the end contributes to the overall experience a bit more than most other aspects when considering quality of picture.

Re: Which TV would you buy? And Why?

If you don't need LCD then don't buy one. Get a plasma. I recently purchased a 42" LG 1080P LCD for my main floor. I have tons of windows and glare is an issue. This is the only reason why I went LCD. IMO.

Re: Which TV would you buy? And Why?

I can't comment on those TV's you listed... But I just bought a 61 in Samsung DLP and it is absolutely great and much cheaper than those listed. What ever you decide on be sure to go to Vann's on the internet,,they have great prices on all their TV's..That is where I bought mine. I was a little nervous about buying one over the internet and having it shipped but it was a very good experience.. I had a 45 in Samsung HD for approx 4years and it was great but this new one is even better.. PS Shipping was free..

Jerry in Minnesota. (if you need anymore info on Vann's just PM me.)

Samsung all they way. I have a 52" 750 serise LCD with an amazing picture. They run around $1800 but if you want to splurge, recomend the Samsung 55" LED for arounf $3800.

Re: Which TV would you buy? And Why?

Another vote for the Pioneer Kuro. There is no display that can compete with it. It is soon to be discontinued, so get one before they are gone. One very important aspect to consider is warranty. A good warranty will run you into the hundreds. Therefore buy your tv from Samsclub. They have a great return policy. They do offer warranty, but you don't need to buy it. Any problems you can just return it and get another or your money back. The money you save from not having to buy extended warranty can go towards your tv. Costco no longer offers this returns on their tvs. A great forum to check out is avsforum they have a great community over there. You will probably find posts with reveiws and settings to use for your new tv. Last, you might want to consider if your want the 24fps spec on your tv. Also your source must also be 24fps(frames per second) for the best picture possible.
