Anyone get a chance to play with this or have an opinion??


Don't know how much of a data plan 5gb is but I really wish they would offer an unlimited..

To be honest, the subsity only works out to about $100. I recently bought a Asus eee 1000ha for $300 which I think has slightly better specs than the HP that Verizon is selling. You would be better off buying the notebook yourself and then getting a usb modem, plus you could use it in any computer, not just the netbook. Most carrier will give them to you for free with a new contract. As for the 5gb, I would think if you were streaming music/video, you could easily hit that limit (I wouldnt download and/or torrent w/ a datacard). If you happen to have Alltel in your area, they are the last carrier AFAIK that offers truly unlimited data, but act fast, Verizon recently bought them out and is in the process of turning them into Verizon. If you have a old Alltel unlimited plan, you will be granfathered in, but after they transition to Verizon, you will be stuck w/ the 5gb limit plans. If you have Cricket service in your area, they offer a 5gb plan for $40/month thats month to month, no contract. Modem is about $100 and they will give you $50 of it back if you keep the service for at least 2 months.
