WOW, looks like my company picked the wrong week to bring me into town. Sweet. I am sure there are some good stories to be told out of this one. Flint

Hi Everyone,
This event was spectacular. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you all. The Houston CigarLive community is thriving, innovating and extraordinarily friendly. The Robustos shop is a great space and I picked up quite a few sticks and am very happy with the selection. I'm recording an episode of the DWSC right now with Heather Haddad and we're having a blast down here at CIGAR in San Antonio. Smoking cigars in Texas is such a great place to smoke cigars - I think it is becoming my new favorite place to smoke cigars (TX that is). It's at least towards the top.

Thank you all for coming to Robustos and making it a great party.
Colin

I was simply a great event! I got chills when I saw how many people showed up.

These are the days that make this board what it is "THE PEOPLE".

My dream is to hear about people getting together in every state! Grab a buddy and go to an event!

Great seeing all of you and I finally got to meet some of our guys from different parts of the city. Looks like we need to plan the next one for our guys up in North Houston.

Really was freaking great!

Everyone,

It was great to get out to Robusto's last night and meet some of the great folks that frequent this wonderful cigar site. I'm not sure if I can recall all of the names of the folks that I met, but I'll try a few of them.

Great to meet Frank and Tiffany (We all be going to The Big Smoke together in 200. Met Daniel, Bo, Colin, Doug and there was a host of others there last night.

Colin - Thanks for the Don Pepin stick straight from the factory (if I remember right). It was great to have a cigar with you at Robusto's and talk about your recent travels... Hope to do it again sometime!

I was also fortunate enough to bring along three Herf rookies with me as well. My friends Doug, Grant, and Mike. It was great to have them join me out there as well.

All in all, it was a great evening, great music, great stogies and spirits, great friends, great comradre, met new friends... All that we missed was a Santa sighting, which is ok with me cuz some of my friends might have wanted to put a cap in one of the reindeer looking for some good back strap and sausage links... lol...

Great time everyone, look forward to doing this again in the near future.

Yeah, the turnout was awesome. Great to meet you Collin. Wish I could have stayed longer, but I had to get home to the wee one. You know you're always welcome if you make it back this way again. Just make sure to give us a shout!

I invited my cousin, Irene to meet us at Robusto's that night since she lives nearby. She said she'd come out because she heard they have a great wine selection. So I tried to explain the whole CigarLive phenomenon to her in a nutshell. We all met each other on the internet, then we got together this particular night because another guy from the internet said he'd be in town and wanted to get together. And oh yeah, that guy is from the UK. It sounded kind of odd at first (and a bit creepy ... hey, here are my internet friends, ohhh). But when I really think about it, I have to wonder just how much better off the country and the world would be if everyone treated each other with the same camaraderie as we cigar smokers do.

Here was the scene at Robusto's. Frank, who had a birthday a few days earlier, walks in and a few of us each hand him a bag of cigars. Okay, that could be chalked up as birthday presents from friends. Which essentially it was. Even though it looked like a scene from Goodfellas/Soprano's/etc... paying dues to the Capo. Then when our guest of honor, Collin, arrives; again a few of us give him a stogie or a selection of stogies and he gives some out to us. What other group of people just hand out gifts for no reason whatsoever? Do you get together with some lunch buddies and just hand them a five dollar bill? Much less a twenty? No! But there's just a different mentality between fellow cigar smokers. I must say it's refreshing to be associated with the group of people I've met here on CL.

Okay, enough mush! It's just in explaining everything to my cousin, I started thinking about how cool it really is. I didn't do a head-count, but I would guess 20 plus people showed up for this get together ... all because some dude we didn't even know from another country said "let's get together." How cool is that? Rock on, my friends!
