Dallas Herfs

So being new to the forum I wanted to check into herfs in Dallas.

Do we have any official cigarlive.com herfs? If so when and where? Perhaps we could get a sticky up in this forum?

If not, I would like to know who is interested in a monthly or twice monthly herf in the DFW area ( i have seen posts from mowee and tx_tuff). I have gone around to quite a few of the cigar shops in the North Dallas area (Addison, Plano, Richardson, highland park, Frisco, McKinney) and I would definitely be willing to go out and chat with the proprietors of the locations about a monthly meet if I knew the interest of regulars would be there.

Also if there isn't a regular one going I would like to use it to promote cigarlive, but obviously this is something I would need to get blessed by Stogie and the mods. I would need some help from stogie or herfers in order to know what a shop may ask if I approached them about this.

Perhaps I just need to get with the people I have seen posting previous herfs (mowee, tx_tuff) and go from there.

I went to my first herf a week ago from monday and it was a blast. It was the one posted by mowee and we were at Stafford & Jones in Richardson. However, I was warned there that he's notorious for forgetting to post the date and time for the herfs until the very last minute, so just keep a good watch on things. It's usually a first (or second) week of the month and the last of the month type thing.

Ok Matt....geez....I got it up today. We're herfing Monday. I usually put it on our yahoo calendar in advance so that is the best way to get notified. Honestly sometimes it is tough to find the right location cuz of conflicts... But you are right...I was late this week. But generally you can expect a herf on the second and last week of the month.

Haha good to finally hear about it! Well I don't get out of class 'till 5, but I'll make sure to come on over afterwards. Just got to make sure I check out the DART schedules, and I should be fine.

No the problem would be with DART LOL. We're meeting around 5pm at the Dallasite. Details over in the herf section. I forget the address but it is on Bryan.

Chaz a Dallas Monthy Herf would be aweome! The way I set mine up is the people that wanted to be host posted it and I put a list of the host together. Each host gets to pick the day and where the herf is to be held. We do at least a one cigar pass at the herfs and if it is at a B&M or place that sells cigars you have to buy at least one cigar from there. In Houston right now we have 19 Hosts signed up and are having our 9th monthy herf this month (by the way you are more than welcome to come, its on the 19th). And this does not stop all kind of other herfs going on so don't be worried about that! now only if there were one in ftw too! heh. possibly a (somewhere in the metroplex) rotating location, kind of like, as mentioned, tx_tuff is doing in houston?

i just don't know if it would be easier to have a dfw-herf or dallas and a ftworth separate, then maybe once a quarter a full dfw herf? *shrug* been thinking on this for a while now, but haven't had a channel for discussion until recently.

Stan we should definately get a FTW HERF together and I think a DFW HERF somewhere reasonably inbetween would be cool too! Brian (Bigfoot) said in the "what's your favorite b&m?" thread that he would try and show up to Pop's if we threw something together!
Surely there are more FTW guys on here that would be in, we should make a thread, start cruising profiles and PM'ing with info and the thread link

That would be awesome! Though if at all possible, could ya'll include some possible spots near DART or TRE stations in the planning stages? I leave my truck at home over the summer, and I'm pretty sure my roommate won't let me borrow his truck all the way out to arlington or wherever ya'll decide to hold it. That's cool if you don't, I don't want to be the lone person to screw up all the plans. But if there's any good spots near some public transit, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm sure we can come up with some places that will accommodate your transportation situation! I would think it would be best to come up with some sort of rotation so that the HERF is close to Dallas one time, close to Fort Worth the next, in the middle the next, and repeat. Or we could do the sort of monthly and a bi-monthly etc. at different locations...
