Gran Habanos

My 2 cents for what it is worth.

As a small business owner opening a cigar bar, needing help from my vendors, George Rico stepped up to the plate. George over-nighted me cigar leaves that are now permanently embedded on the bar tops and are now a permanent part of Robusto's Cigar Lounge

Gee George, I wish you had a clue of the impact this industry has had on me and the graciousness you have shared.

George, you went out of your way send me tobacco leaves. One of the greatest high points of www.robustoscigarlounge.com is the cigar leaves now enshrined in resin on all the bar tops. That be your fault and I thank you.

I thank you I and can not wait for you to see how our grand opening was impacted at Robusto's by your contribution. Oh by the way, Richmond Avenue Cigar can not stock enough GR's (red or black).

To give you a little history about my little shop, Dan and I bought the shop from the "The Cigar Nazi" in 2003. Our vendors and customers have guided us and we have leaned heavily on the expertise of our vendors such as the Poehler's I been blessed with sales reps that believe if we prosper, so do they. As the buyer, girl Friday, bookkeeper, and general flunkie, having smoked exactly 3/4 of an inch of a Don Nobody nasty cigar prior to Dan and I buying Richmond Avenue Cigar, I have to admit Richmond Avenue Cigar has a great selection and Dan knows more about the cigar industry and what is coming to the market than most of my vendors. In my book, he IS the guru. Call me biased, oh yea, I am.

Robusto's Cigar Lounge had a soft opening 06/21/07. George Rico (THE MAN) sent me the Tobacco leaves 06/20/07. Talk about cutting it close to the nines, George Rico surpassed any vendor test and also has THE BEST SELLING CONNECITCUT WRAPPER CIGAR IN RICHMOND AVENUE CIGAR's Humidor and that is the Gran Habanos #1 (I have maybe 3 "good" mild cigars in my humidor, Gran Habanos #1 out sells the rest). I'm not EVEN going to mention the Corjo (Red, #5) or the Habanos (No. 3 ) or the GR Specials (Red and Black) that sail/fly off the shelves at Richmond Avenue. Red GR (son) being fuller bodied and the GR black (father) being milder.

Pick your poison, I'm not sure how a cigar smoker picks between any of the Gran Habanos or GR Specials. They are just all great smokes and George and his father just make really great smokes.

I just want to send a special thanks to George for his extra effort last June.

Very nice words for a great company and man. I've only met George once, at a Famous event in Easton, PA, but he was a pleasure to talk to and you could feel his passion for his craft. Had my first GH Corojo #5 Imperiales that day - and can't stop smoking them! Best corojo I've ever had.

As for your shop, I hear so much about it on here that I really feel like I know it. I only wish there was a quality shop like yours where I live. Maybe you should expand and open up an east coast operation!

I have always supported the Gran HAbano line.. absolutely love the corojo #5..
always recommend them to others as well.. after watching the cigar live videos and watching George & Stogie develop a new cigar for C LIVE.. made me feel much better about the brand and i always try to pick up a Grand Habano at any B&M i walk into.. After reading this great story.. i know what my next box purchase is gonna be..

The leaves imbedded made a great impression on my husband so much that when he started building his own humidor that is what he planned on doing too, although now that it is complete he has put that idea aside since we don't have the nice connections you had. Lucky you! The bar looks awesome and really adds a unique touch you won't find many other places.
