Winston Churchill Cigars - I'd Like Your Opinions

Cigar Cigar recently began stocking the Winston Churchill cigars by Davidoff. If any of you have smoked these I'd love to get your opinions on them; both as a stand-along cigar, and also as a cigar VS the rather stiff price these carry... (I will say we're selling these a lot faster than I thought.)

Thanks,

-Squid

O K Tim I need to be honest with you on this one--I have only had 1 and I really did not care for it. Maybe it was a bad day or something but really I was not impressed at all--I'll probably get it from all sides on this one because I've read that many Drool over them--Again sorry--- but Just Being Honest Bud!

I concur. I bought one for me and my buddy and was not really impressed. I will wait and maybe try again in few months.

Hate to be the second guy to post this, but these aren't my cup of tea either. Partly because of the price. I've actually got one in the humi that was given to me as a gift -- over a year ago! I just never reach for it, which tells ya something.

That's just me, but I can't get into them.

I think Davidoff makes good cigars; not outstanding cigars. If you follow the ratings Davidoff always get between 86-88 on their ratings. For the money, you could purchase Tatuajes, or VSGs. So dollar for dollar I don't see their value.

I know there are a few members who rave over these things, Squid. I've only had one myself. I would say it's a somewhat mild cigar. The construction and burn were impeccable. It was a beautiful cigar, however the flavors didn't match my tastes. I guess this was due to the fact that it was on the mild side. If someone wants a top notch mild stick, this would be great for them.

I consider this more of a medium body. Although I mainly smoke full body cigars this one was prity good for a morning smoke. Each one that I've had since the release was enjoyable. The price is the only issue I have with it.

I bought a couple sample packs, but don't remember the cost. What is the MSRP on them?
I smoked my first one yesterday, don't know what the size is called but a corona size. I smoke anything between med and full and I thought it was a very good cigar. Can't wait to enjoy the other 9 I have but after that don't know how many I will be buying.

That's the only thing that's kept me from trying it. I think with cigars at this price point, some people tend to either upgrade the cigar subconsiously to justify their purchase, or otherwise they really enjoy it but are disappointed because for the price they were expecting an unrealistically good smoke. Of course, not everybody falls into those traps, but I think it happens more often with expensive cigars like this.

I honestly lile them alot they are expensive but so are other cigars that are not as good as these. I don't understand why people tend to look down upon more expensive cigars.

No offense intended Joe- I didn't mean you. Really I was really referring to people like myself. For example, I had my first GOF at a herf and I absolutely loved it. Next time I was going to get one, I wondered to myself, was the smoke really as good as I remember? Or was I just wanting to love it so much that I made myself like it? (Rhonda bought me some for Father's Day- so I'll find out).

I'm not down on expensive cigars- but there are so many cigars I haven't tried, I'll buy 2 $7 cigars rather than try that $15 cigar. But the longer we're into cigars, the more we buy expensive stuff anyway. Last year, I thought I'd be content with only smoking $3-$5 cigars. I really balked at a $10 cigar, and refused to splurge on things like the Padron Annis. Now I'm finding alot of $10 cigars that I like, and we're buying the expensive stuff too.
