Re: Life comes at you fast!
Wow, I am finally home. They released me at 3 and took another 3 hours before I was finally out of there.
A friend had come to visit me on Wednesday night and I was in such pain and the docs were worried about complications that he told me yesterday he had nightmares that night and couldn't sleep. I started feeling somewhat normal on Friday. The doc advised the protocols for discharge and I started to fight to hit everyone one. She said I couldn't be on IV pain meds anymore so I stopped using them and even the pill form. Probably not the brightest idea but I wanted to get out of there. I walked as much as I could and tried to stay out of the bed and in a chair most of the day. Part of what motivated me was realizing that even though I was hurting. My ordeal was nothing compared to what many botl and sotl on here have gone through in their lives. I always thought I had a high pain tolerance but this was a humbling experience. Still going to have pain for a while. Can't drive for at least 3 weeks and can't lift anything over 10lbs. for at least 2 months. Will get the pathology reports in the next couple days and they will decide if chemo is in my future. It cannot be said enough how much thoughts prayers and well wishes help to aid in physical and mental recovery. I am beat for today and going to turn in. Hoping to be back in with more energy tomorrow and might even try to get on skype again for the first time in several months. Also thinking I might have to use some time to brush up on my internet poker. ![]()

Re: Life comes at you fast!
I got the great news yesterday. The pathology report showed that the cancer didn't spread. Nothing in my lymph nodes. My surgeon doesn't expect I will need chemo but it will be the call of the oncologist at the end of the month.
Now I am just trying to get back to normal. The pain should go away soon and I hope to be back to work at the end of the month. Hopefully this ordeal is almost over. (except for the checkups every 6 months for the next several years) Thanks again everyone for the support
