Really sad to hear about your pup Joey - looked/sounded like a great dog. Taken way too young. Your family and Kenai will be in my thoughts w/tonight's smoke.

Joey,

I am sorry to here about your puppy. Two years is way to short. I have to thank the CL group for the support I received when I lost Gallo. It hurts to think of it still but I know he is better off just as your pup. I will most def lift my glass to him and smoke one for him also. Godspeed

A beautiful dog, sorry to see he's gone. I never realized how close a bond between a person and a dog could be until my family got a dog a few years ago. It was hard just leaving him behind when college started, I can't imagine what it'll be like when the day comes he'll have to go too.

Horrible thing to have to put a family member down. The last one I had to send off I had for 18 years. I had to take off work from the grief. Sorry for your loss.

I received the below from Alex (Alnpd) when my Foxie was layed to sleep--Man the tears started again Bro--My wife and I still think of her all the time- Hell I call my cat BooBoo , Foxie sometimes. So sorry Bro . I know it's hard right now and I will pray for you and your family--I will differently have a smoke for Kenai tonight....The picture below was the last ones taken--she was not doing well at all..next day we did what we had to so she would not suffer any longer. I'm sure you did the same.I try to think of all the great things she brought to our family. Hope this helps---------

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
