Son and BOTL left for the Army today.
My son flew out today for Georgia to begin basic training. I'm nervous for him but very proud. I'm glad he chose to serve his country and miss him already. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers, as I do for all the men and women serving in the military. I appreciate all they do for are country. Light one up for him!

Make sure you visit your son at graduation. It will be one of the happiest days of both of your lives. One of my most cherished photographs is me and my father after the completion ceremony of my USCG boot camp.

My company sometimes sends care packages... I make sure to sneak in some cigars and some Scope mouthwash (made to my own specifications...).
