i discovered a few years back that i have a disease called Addisons. basicly my body doesn't produce cortisol. cortisol is a stress hormone made in the adrenals. i have a very weak immune system and when i get sick the stress on my body form the sickness drains all the cortisol that i am taking and throws everything off.

so whatever this crap is that i have picked up has thrown my system into addisonian crisis. and having no insurance i am trying to fight it off myself and its not working!

thank you all again , and i can't say enough about the brotherly love on here!

Damn Charlie that bits! If you did have insurance would you be in the hospital or would a doctors visit and RX take care of it?

okay heres an update. today i was feeling a little better still and was on puff shooting the breeze and catching up. all of a sudden i couldn't see , i mean i could see but everything was blurry.

got my dad to test my blood sugar and i was looking at 800. so apparently now on top of everything else i am now diabetic.

Charlie, 800 is scary. I know you dont have insurance, but this is to the point at which people get put in the hospital. I am a diabetic too, and when my sugar was at 350~375 the doctor wanted me in a hospital. 800 is bad get some help. even if you cannot pay!

Damn Charlie. That sucks, 800 is off the scale. My wife is a pharmacist and a diabetes specialist. She says to drink lots of water.

Im not the one to tell people what to do usually (since i dont take advise very well) but Charlie man....get to the hospital! Dont worry about the money. You can worry about it when your healthy again. Hospitals have insurance to cover people who can afford the treatment anyhow. I know from experience. About 10 years ago I went through a whole slew of tests (with no insurance) and just couldnt pay em back. They told me at the finance office not to worry about it.....it was taken care of. I didnt even have to sign anything. Get better soon man! We all need you around here.
