Koby, I am very sorry that you had to go through this. My thoughts are with you and your wife.

stopped in this morning at 8am and she was looking rough. Lots of swelling and that was causing her to breath hard. We came home and tried to rest and they operated at 10am. At 11:45 they called and said it went well and that we should come in around 5pm to see her. We pretty much just laid on the couch and sobbed all day. My wife is just a wreck. We headed down there at 4:45pm. As soon as we came in the door she sat up in her cage and her eyes were almost all the way open. I opened the door to her cage and she just kept trying to come out. They didnt have her bandaged up so she could breath better. Still had drain tubes in her but she looked alot better. She was alert and knew who we were. they did a good job of stitching up the huge "c" shaped tear in her neck. Its gonna be a nasty scar but im just glad its closed up finally. It appeared the swelling was going down some. Sounds like maybe thursday she can come home. The biggest fear right now is infection. The receptionist is a highschool friend and i guess the doc told her that shes gonna make it. We were all alot more confident after that visit. I just cant believe the difference a few hours made. We had to take Zoe to a friends house today for awhile. Neither of us could stand to be around her. Shes with somebody we know and trust and Zoe has been around him alot so she feels safe. Just hard to be in the same house with her right now. I mean we love her alot but its like if your child tried to kill your first born. Just really dont know what to do. Thanks for all the prayers and luck.......its working!!

Stopped in at 8am again this morning and saw her. This time the doc said go in this room and ill bring her in. She brought her in and sat her on the floor and Missy walked to us!! Alot of the swelling had gone down and her eyes were really alert now. She definetly new it was us. She curled up by my wife on the floor. Her breathing is tons better. They are shooting for thursday when she can come home. So far so good. Im amazed at how well she is doing in just 2 days. Shes a trooper thats for sure. Ill probably go back down at 5pm and see her again.

Went back down at 5pm and met my wife down there. Missy instantly stood up and started wagging her tail like mad! We didnt stay long cause she kept trying to get out of the kennel and we were worried she would hurt herself. Doc says shes doin great and they took her off her pain meds so she can get her appetite back. As soon as she can eat on her own she can come home cause we can put her meds in her food then. Her neck must be sore cause she doesnt raise it up very high. Just seeing her tail wag made me super happy. Thanks again everybody for thinking about Missy. If you ever had the chance to be in this dogs company you would probably be as in love with her as we are.
