Saw Missy at noon today. We took some raw hamburger along and she scarfed it up pretty quick and a little bit of cheese. So that relieved us a little. We were worried about her eating. Its only been 3 days so I guess i dont blame her if she doesnt want to eat after what shes been through. The swelling is really going down and her tail does 90mph! She keeps trying to get out of the kennel. Shes got some drainage from the wound which is good i guess. Thats what the tube is for. Im just glad she ate. Ill probably take her some more burger in the morning.

Sounds like she will get to come home this afternoon! She wont eat for anybody but us so the vet said shes better off at home. We have to irrigate her wounds and give her meds in pill form for a few days then on monday the vet will remove the drainage tubes. She doesnt seem to be in much pain. She walks alot better and ate like a quarter pound of beef!!! I dont care if its good for her or not........if she wants tbone every night of the week this little girl is gonna get it!! The vet called my wife today and told her that Zoe can be on a bus to Colorado by the end of the day if we so choose. There is a very good rescue place there that matches owners with dogs. Everyone is screened and background checked so she will go to a good home. We asked everybody we know and nobody either wanted dogs or already had some of their own. This seems like a good option. At least we know she will be with the right owner....not just some joe blow off the street. Ill keep you updated and maybe post some pictures if Missy doesnt mind. man, I just saw and read the whole post frorm beginning to end today.
know what you are going through, my stepdaughter had the mommy dog and a grandchild dog if you follow
they were both female and started fighting and mommy got the worst of it cause she was older. she farmed out the younger dog cause everyone thought she started the fights but eventually brought her home and a truce was worked out between the dogs but you never could be really sure but they stayed together until the mom dog died naturally.
it is hard to deal with and think your dogs would attack each other
hope your baby survives and if you send the other one off, at least you can know it will find a good home

Amen brother, AMEN!! I cannot imagine what it would be like for one of my beloved animals to go through that because they are truly some of the best friends you can have because they love so much, dont talk back (besides bark or meow) and they always seem to know how to make you smile.

Laura brought Missy home at 3pm!! She is eating like a pig and drinking tons of water! Which is great cause tomorrow we can go back to the vet and have her cathiter removed from her leg. Laura has been irrigating her wounds every 3 hours and on monday the drain tube will get removed. Alot of her swelling came back after the vet stopped her steroids but she said the roids would give her ulsers if we used them too much. So basically all we have to give her is some antibiotics and a pain pill. Red (the chew-wowa) has been leaving her alone. He comes up and checks her out but backs off quick. Laura called me when she got home with her and asked me to guess what the vet bill was. I gasp and said $3000. I was way off......they only charged us $347!!! Thats 5 days, surgery, meds, food and everything else! This vet is getting a huge christmas present this year!! Im just amazed...and greatfull. On a more depressing note....Zoe boarded a bus to Colorado this afternoon. Hopefully she will get a good owner cause she truely is a great dog. We just decided she couldnt be around Missy anymore. Just cant take the chance of this ever happening again. This has been longest week of our lives. Thanks again for the well wishing and thanks for letting me vent. I needed it.
