I'm having a hard time being optomistic

After having a month off due to back problems, I was on my way to the chiropractor to get my "return to work" paper. I drive a few blocks and my car begins to make a loud squeaking plus grinding sound. It feels like brake pads are stuck to the rotors? Since I'm only a few blocks from home, I let the car idle back home, and at this point pressing the brakes barely stops the car. I pull up in the driveway, walk inside and notice my father eyes keep rolling to the back of his head. I ask him what's wrong, and he doesn't respond. No matter what I do, he is unable to speak, he just keeps making very odd hand movements. I call 911, they take him to henry ford hospital, and they tell me they believe he had an Ischemic Stroke, and his current condition may be permanent. I don't know what to do, I just feel like cussing up a storm, I feel like getting drunk, I feel like crying. Mostly I feel bad for my father. Sometimes I think it would be better for him if he moved on to the next life, because this one is a living hell. He is unable to walk, swallow, communicate, pees in his diaper, its just ****ing hell.

When I came back from the hospital today, I looked at his empty bed where he usually is, and I began to think this is how it's gonna feel when he's gone. It's gonna be just me.

I ask of you guys please to take care of your parent's if they're still alive. You only have one mother and one father, when they're gone, they're gone.

Not much too say at a time like this but hang in there, Your advice is good, every time I hear someone bitching about their parents I remind them some of us would give anything to have them around. Mine went many years ago and I think of and miss them often.

My father is gone 11 years ago. My mother has alzheimers, and is fading daily. Your advice to appreciate your family is right on.

Optimism is something we all pray for but relatively practice. It is a state of mind and something that we all need to try and learn at an early age. I feel bad that you are going through this right now and hope that you can take some personal time to get your thoughts together and reflect as to how you will get through this . Do you have other family members who can help at this time? I know there is hospice care available and these people are angels in human form who are there to help. You don't have to do everything yourself,,,,prayers and thoughts are sent to help you thru this difficult time.
