Grew up across the road from the house my grandpa built for her. Grandpa taught me to hunt and fish, to track and to plant a garden. Grandpa crossed over the rainbow bridge over 15 years ago - in fact he died in my arms.
Grandma taught me how to not take crap from young whippersnappers.
And how to love.
I kissed her and told her I loved her last weekend, knowing that this was our last time, more likely than not.
Last night she lapsed into a coma. At least she's not in pain.
Sorry to hear this Brian but as said no more pain. I lost my grandma 2 1/2 years ago and she was my favorite girl. I kept saying that same thing to myself, no more pain. If you need to talk, shoot me a pm.
Thoughts and prayers with you and your's.
I've always liked this:
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free!
I follow the plan God laid for me.
I saw His face, I heard His call,
I took His hand and left it all...
I could not stay another day,
To love, to laugh, to work or play;
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
And if my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss...
Ah yes, these things I, too, shall miss.
My life's been full, I've savoured much:
Good times, good friends, a loved-one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief—
Don't shorten yours with undue grief.
Be not burdened with tears of sorrow,
Enjoy the sunshine of the morrow.
You know it's said that when we cross over, all the questions you've ever had are answered in the blink of an eye. She's in Heaven now smiling on you and yours, and putting in real good words for you before the Eye of Our Beloved Beholder. Rest yourself now and be strong. She'd approve of that. Love you, man, as we all do
Old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill everytime
Very sad to hear May GOD bless you with the strength to deal with the hurt.
Take solace in the fact that she is going to a much better place, She will reunite with Grandpa and one day you will all meet again in GOD'S glorious kingdom.
