I've read that, but it may be more marketing than reality. But they are quite nice and I really like them regardless of what they may or may not be similar to. If you like it then I suggest you look int A.J. Fernandez in general, as much of his other stuff is even better IMO, though a little pricier than those as well.

I smoked the Nica Libre last night. Great smoke. It was a mellow smoke that really hit me at the 2/3 point. I was tasting a lot of leather and pepper, and started getting a really strong head buzz through the last 1/3 of the stick. I nubbed it and saved the band for later. It burned very even and while the ash was looking nice, it wouldn't hold over 1inch.
