Havana Manor - Louisville, Colorado

I got a PM from AvsFan last week asking if I had heard about a new shop in Louisville. I hadn't, but today I decided to go and look for it. I was looking for a place called Superior Cigar Co. Well, I found it, but it turned out to be in a residential area. I'm thinkin', this can't be right. So my buddy and I drove into Louisvlle and after driving around for an hour and asking around we found a new B&M that quietly opened up about 2 weeks ago.

The Havana Manor
1124 West Dillon Road
Louisville, CO
(303) 666-6134

For those familiar with the area it is in the shopping area on the SW corner of McCaslin Blvd and Dillon Road.

I just got back from spending a couple of hours there and talking wth the owner, Duane Bolte. There is another store in Longmont and he is working with the owner there.

Long story short... the place is really nice. They have a nice walk-in stocked with a nice selection of cigars. I didn't see any junk there. The lounge is really nice. They have 2 flat screen TV's with Dish Network and probably about 20 or so large overstuffed couches and leather chairs. The atmosphere is really laid back. They can't pour drinks, but you can bring your own if you like. There is a refrigerator with soft drinks available and a donation can. I would highly recommend it.

If anyone in the area wants to meet there for a smoke let me know.

I used to work at Storage Tech a long time ago, and loved the Louisville/Lafeyette area (great lil bars and Italian food). I wish there had been a cigar store back then - I would have been a fixture.

I'll bet you wouldn't recognize it today. It has grown quite a bit in the last few years.

That's true - I remember when all of those towns (Firestone, Erie, Dacono, Berthoud, Severence) were so small you'd miss them entirely if you blinked. I lived in Greeley for about 17 yrs, and went to work at Storage Tech right out of college. Are Bruce's Bar (Severence) and the Blue Parrot (Louisville) still there?

I'm not familiar with Bruce's Bar, but the Blue Parrot is still there and still serving great Italian food.

Bruce's is like world-famous for their Rocky Mountain Oysters. It's a landmark in the area. I was spoiled by the Blue Parrot, and haven't been able to find anything to compare ever since. There were a couple of bars down the road where we used to go for beer and the best sausage and cheese rolls. Brings back memories...

I think I went looking for that place recently and failed to find it. The GPS in my Blackberry leaves a few hundred things to be desired. I now work for Level 3, just above Sun/Storage Tek. Thanks Mark.
