Just a quick review of the Modus tool that I received last week. Honestly, I hope I never have to use this tool because that would mean a plugged cigar and we all know that could go south quickly and ruin what should have been a nice smoke. However, I do know that after holding this thing, examining its construction and giving it a test run on a cigar that I deemed sacrificial, I know that this tool is going to perform and do exactly what it was designed to do.

Blade side and nubber side are built for task and bonus punch cutter was a nice surprise [emoji41] The whole case has a good heft to it and will last a long long time. Can probably also be used successfully as a weapon 🤣 Happy customer! curmudgeonista

While I don't use the poker very often (good thing), I use the nubber tool all the time. It is indeed a great tool to have.

As a Modus owner, if I may offer a suggestion...

The first time for me was a Moby-Dick experience on my thumb...blood everywhere...harpooned the heck out of my thumb.

That got me to thinking....

What I did was jam the harpoon deep into the cigar, and try to pull it out. It was "stuck" so I pulled harder.

In retrospect, I'm thinking now that maybe put the Modus in an inch, and then withdraw it. Test draw. Repeat deeper if needed.

Anyway, those are my thoughts.

I'm assembling my cigar-related "wish list" for my birthday and Christmas this year, and the Modus is definitely on it. The trick will be not spending all of my money on actual cigars. :)

I like the look of that new barb at the end.

Also when you are clearing a plug and your wife starts bitching about you stinking up the place, don't walk around with your tool open. Good way to stab your leg. Ask me how I know.

Excellent advice.

Excellent advice.

Yep an inch in is about it and usually does the trick. Once I had to go in from the cap and foot to get a good draw. If you go deeper there is a chance you will come out the side of the cigar. Slowly and carefully, it works so well.

Keep saying I am gonna grab one. I know the day is coming when I will need it. I know it has saved a few of Olecharlie smokes. Beautiful piece enjoy.
