Montecristo Media Noche Churchill on the deck
Montecristo Media Noche Churchill is by far one of my favorites.
I have never had any skill at reviewing cigars, so I’ll just say that it is a powerful cigar that requires commitment to fully enjoy. Worth an hour long smoke to get the full flavor of the oily dark wrapper and thick ring. I feel like it opens up about 1/3 of the way in, and the spice becomes more appreciable, but once you get too close to the wrapper, there is too much girth to really enjoy when the cherry is so close to your tongue, so I tend to let it go to the garden at that point.
Bit of a cigar history question/story:
Why does Montecristo have three swords on the label for many of their cigars?
The legend says, back in the day there was a person in the rolling room of the cigar factory who would read to the rollers. One particular reader loved to read Alexander Dumas books to the rollers, so the rollers one day recommended a label with three swords to represent the Three Musketeers. 🙂
