Hello! Newbie from Iowa

Sup?!!!

Just started smoking cigars...really don't know what I'm doing. Sometimes in the cigar shop I pick by price or what's been picked through the most...sometimes I pick cigars with the least fancy band around it. I've been enjoying it quite a bit - never thought I would like cigars this much! Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Welcome.. if it's a b&m with a decent staff, don't be afraid to take their advice, AFTER you tell them your tastes and budget. Just don't let em upsell you on crap you don't want. There's cigars (gurkhas) that sell for 12$at the shop and 2$ online. Research is your friend. We're here to help

Welcome!

Your strategy so far has actually been pretty darned astute. 1) Can't hurt to try the cigars that are selling best (@UBC03's Gurkha warning notwithstanding) - 2) Brands like Padron rely on the quality of their cigars rather than fancy bands... -and- 3) Joining Puff will raise your game immeasurably!

Howdy Nate! Iím with you on the cigar band theory that less is more. I canít think of a bigger buzz kill than trying to remove a cigar label that covers from the foot to the cap. (Rocky Patel Ray Lewis comes to mind) Guess I should have taken Marketing 101 as a college elective?

Or an elaborate 3 inch band on a FIVE INCH ROBUSTO. It doesn't give the glue a chance to heat up enough to remove it without fubaring the cigar .
