Value Priced Coffees from Discount Chains

You want to read this if you do not home roast and purchase your coffee on the cheap at a Costco or Sams club type place. This is the general article, the reviews are easy to get on the same site. This report just came out. Good luck.

Re: Value Priced Coffees from Discount Chains

This article was very informative. I am an avid coffee drinker and love good coffee. I definitely learned some coffee maker secrets and what to look for. Thank you for the information.

Re: Value Priced Coffees from Discount Chains

There is nothing wrong with buying coffee like that if you are just looking for your morning caffeine rush. If you are looking for flavor though these will leave you wanting something else.

The biggest miss with those coffees isn't even that they are bad coffees, it's just that they are so old by the time you get them you don't realize how much flavor you are missing.

Most people have never had a truly fresh cup of coffee. A true fresh cup is made from beans roasted 4-7 days earlier and not ground until the minute you are going to brew them.

Add to the freshness your own nuance of what kind of bean your taste buds prefer and you have a whole new world of coffee you never knew existed.

I started buying Eight O'Clock Colombian Beans on Amazon. I love the fresh taste when I grind the beans just before I brew.

I find buying coffee from these places quite expensive. I got a Nespresso Pixie D60 for my birthday a couple of months back from my fiancé since I love coffee and it's the perfect machine. You can get cafe like coffee right at the comfort of your home wishing a few minutes.

Coffee and machines are continuing to make this vice better. I buy coffee all over the place and when traveling I'll buy beans locally. I purchased a Keurig 550 during the last Christmas Holiday and love it...use it every day it seems. I also FP but not as much as I used to . These new coffee machines are really driving the industry lately. ....gotta say that buying the Don Pablo Signature medium brand ...2 lb bag for $11 is great at Costco has been a find. I got my own K cup filter to use on the Keurig so I have the best of both worlds.

+1 on the Keurig, had one for quite a while, Peet's Major Dickason Blend from Costco is a great brew

I gently bent one each into my nostrils, then put the remaining one in my mouf. --droy1958

Sadly here in Atlanta the local Costco doesn't offer Peets Major Blend or I'd be all over that. Don Pablo is one of those everyday coffees that seems to have me hooked for the last 2 years. No acid taste...bold flavor and I use the whole beans for my FP and order from Amazon for the K Cup.....I also have the filter to grind my beans and put it in the K Cup filter but it doesn't seem to hold the same quality as the same coffee K Cup from Amazon.

Costco's own Kirkland Pacific Bold is quite good also, did you try that?

Got a box of it a couple of months ago...I like it but not as much as the Don Pablo...I'm thinking they put some crack in their beans and K Cups.
