At least we are finally getting some answers. But something still sounds fishy with this whole thing.

Re: Puff.com Questions & Answers: Moving Forward

I never saw john post, I have no idea if he was even a smoker or just a forum owner and I couldn't care either way. Business is business. I think a lot of the issues lay with the old moderator team. Whether or not they acted the way they did because they were told to, or because they assumed they were above everyone else I have no idea. But when the mod team cleared out close to 100 members in 3 days some with valid reasons, quite a few without any reason and then a good handful of people that got banned on purpose because they disagreed with how things were handled, there was a pretty big wedge driven between 2 parties.

you should see a dr for erections lasting longer than 4 hours, does that apply to e-peens as well?

I guess what sounds inconsistent is the accusation that multiple moderators (you referred to them in plural) sabotaged the site, yet only one was banned, and two are still listed as moderators (i.e. Teedles915 and DJ1340 ). I realize this seems like minutia and semantics, but it is hard to claim you want to start the forum again and establish trust, when at the same time you're inconsistent.

Much sympathy for Shari, all the best in reconstituting this great place.

I wasn't here for any of that stuff but I agree, if moderators are going around deleting people, banning people, etc. without reason that isn't right. No one likes a moderator on a power trip or someone who abuses other members simply out of joy. We will do our best to make sure nothing like that happens moving forward. I think we can put together a great moderation team both from some people on the team here already and some new ones.

Re: Puff.com Questions & Answers: Moving Forward

Here is my biggest problem. So many of us have poured a lot of time and effort into puff. Just to be left hanging several times. The site went down for a month. A month online might as well be a life time. I had a lot of unfinished business left floating . I knew I could contact several members on other forums but a lot of member were only here.

Now the owners want business as usual. trust is built and not given. We will see how things progress from this point forward.

Pissing people off since 1973! And getting better at it everyday.

I have not been inconsistent. I'm sure that you are aware (because, after all, you are the moderator who deleted the largest number of posts) -- that some moderators deleted more than others. Some posts that were deleted, could have been for legitimate reasons (ie, spam). Some moderators felt the need to do everything in their power to burn this place down. Some didn't do nearly as much. The punishment fits the crime. I believe that is the way it should be.

Re: Puff.com Questions & Answers: Moving Forward

Two questions:

1. Is this new team going to be in place permanently? I've heard the site was sold to new owners, and whatnot... so are you guys working for Shari, or the new owners, or was all that nonsense?

2. Any plans for a new logo? Puff is a great name for a cigar smoker forum, but the puffer fish thing...

I don't blame you in the slightest. Trust is built over time and it is earned. I'm not asking for you to trust us, I'm simply asking for you to keep an open mind. I'm sure that over time we can earn your trust back. It may be a few days of hiccups with the new server but we'll get those ironed out in short order.

A month online is a lifetime. I 100% totally agree.

Our goal is to be part of the new place permanently. The site has not been sold but that is certainly a possibility in the future. Our goal is to be a part of the team now, and even if there are new owners. Again, thats part of building trust. We don't just have to build trust with the community, but with Shari as well.

As far as the logo, that sounds like a great idea for a poll. Keep it or go in a new direction.
