Arrow Viaje Platino Samurai Natural and now Maduro (Update)

I know there are a lot of Viaje fans out there. So I have the scoop on some harder to find sticks for you.

I went to my local B&M, Burn Premium Cigars Specialists, they have a wonderful assortment of boutique brand and the regular characters. When I was in I was talking with James (the owner) and he was telling me all about how he and Andre worked together to make a Burn exclusive cigar. So far there has been 2 releases, 2010 and 2011. The only difference being the addition of a band with the Platino line branding. I have actually now had both of these, the size is wonderful. Andre never really did this type of vitola, 6x48. This was the first one of that size he did. I know the there was two retailers picked this year for exclusives, one got Platino line and the other got Oro line. I think it I pretty sweet that my local shop gets exclusives and has the whole line of Viajes. James has worked hard to get all this, and I thank him for the effort to get the hard to find sticks.

So the reason why I wrote this is to tell you as of right now 2-21-12, he has 60 boxes in stock of the 2011 release. Give him a call or email and tell him you heard this on Puff.com and he will take care of you.

Re: Viaje Plantino Samurai (Burn Exclusive)

I already picked up a box, but these would be selling a lot quicker if they actually put on their site what they had. Instead of the generic "tell us what you want" form. Is there 60 boxes left at only Burn or between Burn and Tobacco Grove?

Its the same blend but the '10s seem a little better to me. More balanced.

Re: Viaje Plantino Samurai (Burn Exclusive)

If I remember from the conversation he said the "he" had 60 left. So I believe Tobacco Grove is not included.

With the balance, I can't really remember what the '10 tasted like I wasn't taking notes at that time. I would say maybe a little time would balance them out.

In both the Platino and Oro (Koa), I think these are the best vitola for them. Seem to get more flavor out of them than any other size.

What's the charge for a box?

Re: Viaje Plantino Samurai (Burn Exclusive)

Update

So it has been out for a bit but Burn now has a new version of this fine cigar.

Welcome the Viaje Platino Samurai Maduro. As many will know that Andre does not use the maduro wrapper outside of the Satori line. So this is the first maduro in the Platino line. James got a shipment of 99 boxes, so get them while they last. Give James a call and say you heard it here on puff and he will take great care of you.

Sorry forgot to write back on this. They are 8.50 a stick so that would put a box at 212.50. This is assuming you are out of MN, then you would be paying over 300 for it with the crazy tax.

Both are great cigars, I had both multiple times but I do think the Maduro needs to sit a bit, just a little wet still.

Bumping this for 2 reasons:
