Question Rocky Patel recommendations request.

So, there is a Rocky Patel Event coming to my B&M on the 22nd.
I have never smoked a RP yet, and would like some advice on what I should look into, or even stay away from if there are any.

I tend to follow the forums here and make notes of the various cigars that people say are the must smokes. From the list I have formed, I don't see any RP at all.

So you have an idea of my preferences and tastes, I generally stay below $10 per stick, and prefer the Robusto / Toro / Torpedo vitola.

Baccarat Rothschild
CAO Gold
CAO OSA Sol
Perdomo 10th Anni Champagne

JdN Nicaragua Antano
Liga Undercrown
Padron
Tatuaje

Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Look into the Decade Line. I found it to be very smooth & flavorful. It was medium in body.

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail!!!:smoke::pipe:

15th anniversary is quite nice, I have had a few of those. Also heard good things about the decade. There is always the vintage 1990 that tends to be a decent smoke although I havent had one for a couple of years now.

RP 1990, 1992 & 2003 Vintage, along with the 15th Anniversary (definitely grab a few 15's) are great cigars, and are ones that I would pick up at a RP event. I haven't tried the sun grown or royal, but I'll probably grad a few of these next time I place an order just to try them.

The RP decade and the Connecticut are good.

Decade, Edge Maduro, Sungrown (only had one of these so ymmv) are good in my experience.

The Vintage 1990 and Connecticut 10-packs I've purchased have had terrible burn problems, but the flavors are okay.

I would stick with the Decade.

Re: Rocky Patel recommendations request.

I happen to like all the cigars you listed specifically, so our tastes may be similar. All the RP Vintage lines are tasty, with the conny 99 being my fav. conny. That being said, the Revolution and Old World are both misses for me. Hope that helps. Haven't had a bad Decade or Edge yet either.

Why not just stay home and smoke those Perdomos Ligas and Padrons?

Honestly I've never had a bad RP. I've yet to have one that made me feel like buying it again either, so I guess I only chimed in to bust balls....

I tried several RPs and the only one I cared for was the Winterblend 2012. That was a good smoke.
