Cellaring OTC's in original container?

Is it OK to long term store OTC's (C.H., SWR, Walnut, etc.) in their original containers or would it be better to store the tobacco in Ball/Kerr jars?

If its an airtight "tin" tin, sure. If its baggy wrapped or cardboard or plastic pouch, then a mason jar is recommended.

...and if an OTC is overly moist, should it be dried a bit beforehand or jarred as is?

It's none of those, it's a plastic tub. So the question remains...

For my stuff, if there is any doubt what so ever about the seal of the container it goes into a mason jar. They are cheap and reliable. Why have that to worry about when you can be sure of the seal of the mason jar.
