Question Where is the best place to buy first pipe?

Hi,

I Have been a cigarette smoker for 5 years and now I would like to try pipe smoking. I've read lots articles about that but when it's time to buy it's a big problem because there are too many shops or may be it's better to chose Amazon?

Where is the best place to buy a first pipe? And if you could - describe your choose please, you will help me so much!

Thanks!

If you're just looking to give it a try, a Missouri Meerschaum Cob is your best bet! Cheap, reliable, and a good enough pipe that even grizzled vets still have a few in their pipe rotation! Best of all, if you buy direct from their website, they have a few tobacco blends they sell right on the site, so you can bundle and save on shipping charges! Just be sure to watch a few/several videos on YouTube about packing, cadence, etc. There's a huge learning curve to piping, but the justifies the means, and above all else... PATIENCE! It will come.

Great advice from @Dran, i saw a Cob for sale in my local Walgreens a few days ago, check your local one if you can

I gently bent one each into my nostrils, then put the remaining one in my mouf. --droy1958

Welcome from Texas!
Cobs are the most economical way to get started, they are very forgiving and will take an incredible amount of abuse with no ill effects. It is possible to get very inexpensive Briars that smoke well but the odds are about 50/50 until you figure out what your looking at.
I usually recommend cobs and simple tobacco’s such as Carter Hall,Prince Albert or Sir Walther Raleigh to start with, this way you can focus on your technique without having to deal with a quirky pipe and/or finicky tobacco’s.

If I see a stick that made a noob nic sick,I put it on my list as a must try. (UBC03)

If and when you decide to go the Amazon route, the Mr. Brog pearwood pipes are very affordable and legitimately good smokers.

That being said, I recommend finding a $5-$7 Missouri Meerschaum cob from Walgreens if you can find one

Missouri Meerschaum Cob Is the best way to go, I have two of them. Because I enjoy cigars so much they have received little use. Pipe smoking is in my future but until I master the cob and am fully committed I decided not to spend $$$$$$ on a pipe.
