Like all Rugers they are rudimentary in the sense.
They are very unrefined but very durable and a bargain.
For a gun like a Glock at half the price.
At under $300 its a no brainier go for it!

For me personally this is IMHO and YMMV.
A double action semi auto pistol.

jmt8706 Anyone have experience with a Ruger Security 9? The reviews are favorable, and i'm thinking of picking something up in 2020. I still plan on visiting the gun shop to find what feels good in my hand, just thought I would ask, it's on my short list.

You should give the LC9s a try totally different trigger (striker fired vs internal hammer on the LC9) and very smooth right out of the box. I have the LC9s Pro (without the safety) and the trigger is very smooth with a crisp break.

I've definitely become one with it lol. I've been faithfully carrying it for around 5 years now. Problem is that since I've gotten into 1911's recently, I'm a bit spoiled when our comes to triggers. Different animals all together though.

Iím certain if youíve carried the PPS for any length of time youíve become quite proficient with it. Theyíre fine handguns.

You might consider doing some research on the APEX. Long pull has been eliminated as well as shortening the break on my Shield. Reset is a lot crisper also. The only other mod I made was the Tru-Glo sights I regretted those almost immediately, guessing I expected too much.

No kidding, but it does what it was designed to do very well. I have to force myself to take it to the range to train with.
