Re: Perfect smoking room?

I would like to have a private room with a fireplace,a large collection of pipes and tobaccos in my cabinet,a large screen to watch movies,a leather chair and a view to the country from my window. The time there with calmness and quietness would be perfect!

Hardwood floors, large fireplace with a wormwood mantle, tongue and groove hardwood inlay halfway up the wall, with the rest being a brightish forest green. Large picture window for bird feeders, french doors to a balcony large enough for a few chairs and a charcoal grill. Overstuffed leather armchairs, a poker table, and bar. No tv. No music. Just a big bookshelf filled with my book bucket list. And a good exhaust system.

Can't knock the bathtub!

I tried smoking in the bathtub once, theorizing that with a window open and the ceiling vent fan running, it would air out quickly and no harm done. It was an amazing experience.

...But the bathroom smelled like cigar smoke for over a week afterwards, so I'm not allowed to do that anymore.

I have to admit to being a minimalist. I'd settle for a shack in the backyard with a half-bath, a big desk and a comfortable chair, maybe a leather sofa. Some music, nothing fancy. A good upright ashtray and a fan going in one corner to circulate the air.

Re: Perfect smoking room?

I don't have a designated smoking room, but I live on a mountain in a Wilderness Area, with a front porch, a covered back porch, and acres and acres of national forest to walk through, so I really don''t need a special place. I can smoke in my house, so it's not a problem.

With that being said, you idea for a Man-Cave seems pretty good. I can't think of much of an improvement.

Re: Perfect smoking room?

The only thing that would make it perfect is if I could find a way to smoke in the shower. So far, my attempts have been somewhat less than successful.

Re: Perfect smoking room?

I have several trout streams within walking distance of the back porch, as well as smallmouth bass, and catfish. Also whitewater rapids (I have 2 kayaks). There is a small-ish mountain lake (25 acres) within 2 miles of the house.

Here's a photo from the back of the house, of Jack's River falls. Distance = 200 yards from the back door.

The only thing I can't do is figure out how to smoke in the shower.

In the movie "Big Red 1" an italian who served in the US Army was smoking even due the disembarkation in Normandy at the D-Day, his cigar was in his mouth even when he was on the waves of sea.
The main problem in a closed room is the ventilation, an open window does not solve the problem of the remained tobacco smell. They said that an non aromatic candle due smoking helps somehow.
