I'm not much into hockey, but I love a different ice game: Curling.

Re: Any hockey fans?

I'm a hardcore hockey & Avalanche fan. Very disappointing season so far. I'm hoping for a big turnaround after the break

Re: Any hockey fans?

Seeing Lanny McDonald's mustache as a young fella has made a Calgary fan ever since. As such, I'll also keep an eye on whoever Iggy happens to be playing for since his departure from the Flame's lineup. I really hope when it's time he can return to Calgary for at least a final season. Dallas is the only team I absolutely refuse to have any part of. Still chapped about the North Stars, I guess. Maybe I should let that one go. I guess I try to follow as much hockey as I can, love to pull up to a full NHL Center Ice lineup in the guide on the tube. Glad they've really upped their HD Canadian broadcast feeds this year, most of the Fox Sports RSN broadcasters are waayyy too whiny and spend far too much time complaining about penalty calls. I get the home team twist, but some of what they say comes off as straight up ignorant about the sport. Something about NBC's coverage makes me cringe a bit as well, can't pin that one down.

We have a local curling league. They put on a nice open house style event every year to introduce new people to the game. Always wanted to go, but something seems to come up every time!

EDIT: The event is in the style of an open house, not that it is an open house "style event". Watching Slap Shot is about as close as I want to come to that. ink:

People say the hawks are our rival but I never seem to enjoy it as much as a blues wings game!
