I noticed you said your smoking one or two bowls a day. What type of pipe are you using? Are you rotating pipes or are you using the same pipe when you smoke two bowls a day?

Rotating pipes. I have a briar and a corn cob.

Try sticking a pipe cleaner down the stem. Gurgling can be part of pipe smoking. I like the Peterson system as it eliminates most gurgling because it has a secondary chamber where moisture reconstitutes and collects. Yes itís another part on the pipe you must clean but you can pull the stem mid smoke and drain a few drops quickly.

Savinelli even has some models with a similar style.


As you acquire more pipes and piping techniques you will see the gurgling subside more as well.

I know when I smoke an aromatic and pack it too tightly, I get gurgling sometimes. Especially in the cold nights where I need to slow it down a bit. Try different methods as you move along like these guys suggest and you will find yours eventually.
