Advice Please: How to Reattach a Band to a Pipe Stem

Before doing something irreversible, I'd like to get some expert advice on how to reattach a gold band to the shank of my pipe. Right now the band is held on by the stem. The pipe is an estate and came with the loose band. I would rather live with that arrangement than screw up the pipe or alter the taste of future smokes. If you think the band can be glued, please give me detailed instructions. You can assume I don't have any experience doing this. Thanks in advance.

I dont believe I would even entertain gluing it. It was crafted to friction fit. My guess is the wood has dried out. You might try wiping that connection with distilled water to see if it will swell and seal that band. Of course have the stem in while attempting.

I'm no expert, and did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express......

Maybe talk to Sid about it, other than that my only advice wbe to talk to the guys at Briarville or Walker, maybe GeorgeD, Tim West might still be doing repairs.

Blueroombriars also will do some repairs. They have an in-house pipaker Jesse. They are located near Columbus Ohio. The pipe maker is Jesse and the sales/billing guy is Scott.
