S.G. Skiff Mixture

Thanks to Charles for a generous sample of Skiff Mixture. I'd been wanting to try it for a while.

At first I was a little disappointed with it. It started just a bit flat. So I put it down and figured I'd pick it back up this morning to see if it was just the day's rigors that had SM a little blah. To a degree it was.

I picked it back up this morning and it was much better. The turkish wasn't as tangy as I like in an oriental but it was still not bad. The latakia stayed pretty mellow throughout the bowl. Virginias give this a nice base.

I think this is a good tobacco. Squadron Leader is better but it's far better than Perfection. With all of the really good english blends out there, this one is one you can get away with skipping.

It was.....well, let's just say it was.

Re: S.G. Skiff Mixture

Hmmm - I have puffed many tins of SL but now prefer Skiff when I'm in a breakfast Lat mode. Skiff is less picky about the particular pipe and is only slightly less complex. It is subtler.

Skiff is high on my Top100 and I have it cellared.
