I've noticed it's been quite in a lot of threads over the past week. I think everyone decided to move, travel, or take a vacation this past week.

Wifey bought me a new toy!!

My gas BBQ finally gave up the ghost a couple years ago, after 16 years of hard use. Needless to say, I've missed it. It's a long story, but I have another grill that is not available for my use on a daily basis.

My father in law has an electric grill that I have used several times, and my wife and I have been looking for one like it on sale for the last few months. My frugal wife is walking through Target, and sees this in the Clearance section!

So I arrive home, find my wife's car in the driveway, and wonder why she didn't park in the garage. Imagine my surprise when I open her garage door and see that in the middle of her parking spot!!

I assembled it the next day, and it was perfect. No damage or missing parts. I used it for the first time last night to burn it in and start seasoning it. I grilled a couple of chicken beasts and burgers. They took a little longer than usual to cook, but ultimately came out perfect.

Arizona - But, it's a dry heat!!!

My sister had some sort of minivan (Dodge?) that my brother in law had to take the front end off of to change the battery. Business partners Chevy truck 03? Had to take the bed off to change the fuel pump.

On some Chryslers you have to remove a wheel and fender liner to get to the battery. Most trucks have fuel pumps that drop in from the top of the tank. It's either set the bed back or drop the tank. Taking the bed loose is easier.

The design engineers could care less they will never work on the cars! What about removing a front fascia to replace a headlamp bulb, running a program update into a radio for fixing navigation and locks the radio which now will not allow the A/C to work in 100 degree temps outside and takes 6 months to get a radio. This is Chrysler!

What about the GM cover up on Ignition switches and key cylinders that cost human lives and Billions of dollars because they hid the issue to save a few bucks.

A good friend of mine wrote the book Ford the America Dream, the title was going to be Found on Road Dead until Alan Mullaly Ford CEO (that I highly respect), at the time flew him up to a meeting that changed the title to Ford the American Dream.

With the average new vehicle running 30-40 computers, now they have to figure out how to protect hackers from taking control while your driving! Not even going to start on the government and EPA crap that is spurring most of the real issues.

Had one bought back and crushed with 2000 miles because Engineering cant figure out the problem much less Master Technicians. WTH!

Ok I need to shut my mouth, but the best my friends is yet to come!!

I'm far from mechanically inclined.... But I used to be able to do a pretty good amount of my own maintenance on my 1st car, an '83 Chevy Caprice classic! Those were the days!
