My old Cummins-powered Ram and my (nearing antique status) 4Runner are my go-to daily drivers and I thought I was in heaven getting 21-23 MPG in each of them. I guess just about anything is better than the 9 MPG I get in my 4x4 gas-guzzler-special when there's a trailer behind it.
Ford c-max energi. If you plug it in a few hours overnight you get the first twenty (give or take depending on the speed and if you have the heat on) miles on electric only. After that it gets around 30 MPG. But any time you hit the break or coast it recharges the battery..
I went to my parents today. Actually gained a mile. Started with 17 miles left on electric, drove 7 miles . Head 18 miles left on the electric "tank" when I arrived. There's alot of coasting and the road only allows you to go about 45.
Now if you're doin 80 it sucks it up in half the time. But it takes off like a rocket when it's in electric mode.
I think you've officially purchased a kinetic generator on wheels. You got negative 1/7th MPG!
Or negative 1/7th miles per mile. I don't know. My head hurts from dividing by zero.
That's how it describes it in the book .. lol
Read stories online about guys putting in stabil because they haven't used gas in six months. But they live in the city , all stop and go. So you're constantly charging the batteries.
My buddy has a 3/4 ton extended cab with an 8 for bed and a lift kit. Gets about 8 mph. He was amazed how much interior room how easy it is to get in and out of.. he made fun of me until he rode in it. Now he's thinking about getting one.
