Re: What is your opinion on non-briar pipe?

I have a few non-briar pipes. Definitely not something to shy away from if you find one that catches your eye. Cobs of course are a nice outdoors pipe if you're doing work and don't want to risk...

Re: Well, back to the pipe!

Welcome back to the dark side.

I smoked cigars exclusively from 07-08, threw pipes in, and then was forced to give them up until 2010. Now I have a bunch of cigars that age, and am building up a...

Re: HOTW back in stock at JR Cigars

Thanks for the heads up on this great deal. I am not a huge fan of HOTW, or at least I wasn't in the past, but seeing as all the Rattray blends were that cheap I decided to get 5 tins of Marlin...

Re: Tonights Smoke II - FOR PIPES

Cracked a tin of SG BBF I've been aging for a little over a year and smoked a bowl of it in a Cavicchi. Was a little slow to start out, but once it hit the sweet spot, it was a great blend. I'd add...

Re: How Much Tobacco is Enough?

My cellar is a little out of control right now. I have too many different blends to go through, and while I don't mind changing things up every once in awhile I definitely have been trying to narrow...

Re: I can't be the only one...

I have had this happen to a couple of my pipes as well. Once I figured out what it was, I started trying to prevent it from occurring. Usually after a smoke I will lick my thumb and run it across the...

Re: Tonights Smoke II - FOR PIPES

Had a bowl of Three Oaks Syrian in my Peterson Kinsale XL12 (Baskerville) tonight while the sun set. Took a book out and read a short story with the smoke. Relaxing evening while I have a weekend...

Re: Anyone have experience with these pipes?

I'll second the mention of Boswell's making the shape and referring to it as a bridge.

I also think I've seen that shape referred to as a fan.

Either way it looks nice, but without being able...

Re: QUICK! Awesome Cutty for your ropes on Smokingpipes!

Definitely a nice little pipe. I really like the cutty shape lately, and have been thinking of picking one up for awhile now. There's one by Cavicchi also on SP that kind of has my eye, but I'm also...

Re: What's your favorite pipe?

I have a number of pipes that are all close together as far as being my favorite. It's definitely close between my Cavicchi's and Rad Davis, but in the end I'd say my Rad Davis rhodesian is my most...

Re: Tonights Smoke II - FOR PIPES

More HV for me tonight, however, my tin is starting to dry out a little. Means I should probably keep smoking it until it's gone...oh well I'm fine with that.

Re: Where do you smoke?

I used to smoke in my room until I got in trouble for it (definitely was against the rules so I was somewhat pressing my luck there), now I either smoke out behind my building in the smoking gazebo,...

Re: Tonights Smoke II - FOR PIPES

The rest of my pipes came in today from moving, so naturally they were among the first things I unpacked. It looks nice to have a full shelf of pipes again. With getting all my pipes back to me I...

Re: Tonights Smoke II - FOR PIPES

Went for a nice walk with a bowl of 1Q in a Cavicchi this evening. Just reamed the bowl today as well, and the pipe smoked noticeably better. Win win.

Definitely was a bit of a surprise to me when I tried it. One of my favorites, will definitely be stocking up on it when it comes back in stock.

Re: OCD Question about Peterson St. Patty's Pipe 2011

Re: THE Mixture

This review reminds me so much of the time I smoked a Gorilla Finger at a herf. I believe I used urinal cake to describe that cigars taste profile. I'd imagine Mixture 79 is along those same lines....

Re: OCD Question about Peterson St. Patty's Pipe 2011

It appears that you have a special pipe. As far as I've been able to check, all of the others are the other way around. Looks like the band was just slipped on backwards by mistake. Being factory...

Re: Buy a "premium" pipe ?

I have begun to start change my collection from quantity to quality as well. I decided to give a higher grade pipe a try, and it seems to me a more sound investment. Provided you take care of your...

Re: Squat tomato pipes ect.

I know he's been brought up in this thread a few times already, but Rad Davis has pretty much perfected this shape. Add to that the quality of sandblasting he does as well as the grain of his briars,...
