Re: Black tubes that come with Savinelli quandales?

According to Savinelli, you should not smoke their Convertible pipes without either the balsa insert or the converter tube. See the Savinelli website at: BALSA SYSTEM...

Re: Glock mods!

I initially stated no mods on mine; however, based on some subsequent posts, it appears that tritium sights are considered mods. Well, if that is the case, my G26 has Tritium sights, yellow on the...

Re: Steel Challenge Anyone?

Did 3 gun (pistol, shotgun and AK47) and liked it alot. We don't have 3 gun matches very often. Do IDPA more than anything. I do reload; however, nothing beats the price of .22. I have also done a...

Steel Challenge Anyone?

Anyone ever tried a Steel Challenge match? I did yesterday for my first time. Man was that fun. It will develop your ability to transition from target to target (very helpful for IDPA and IPSC,...

Re: What is your favorite after dinner drink/pipe pairing?

Lagavulin 16 is one of my favorite single malts. I am also fond of various others, Balvenie 12 is also a good one, but far different. As far as what to actually smoke with a good single malt, I...

Re: Prince Albert in a Cob?

Did the side by side comparison today in a MM Cob and Peterson System 303. At first, the PA in the Cob tasted a little bitter where in the Pete, it tasted very smooth and not bitter. After a while,...

Re: Prince Albert in a Cob?

Alright, I tried the PA in a cob and did not find it any better than in my briars. It was about equal. I intend to next try them side by side (cob and briar) to see if I can tell any difference. Will...

Prince Albert in a Cob?

I have read some threads touting the smoking of Prince Albert in a cob. I like Prince Albert, but have only smoked it in a briar. To those Prince Albert smokers, is there a difference between the...

Re: I made a pipe.

Beautiful workmanship. I don't think I would smoke them since they are made of oak or "jatoba". Don't know if those woods could be toxic if smoked. Hope you get your briar soon.

Re: Prince Albert Choice Blend

Thanks for the review. I'll have to see if I can find some to try. I do like regular Prince Albert that I can find easily.

Not at the Walgreens by me; but they may vary nationwide. The Prince Albert is an popular brand that should be easy to find most anywhere that pipe tobacco is sold. Good luck on finding the cob. Let...

Re: Possibly getting into pipes??

As you indicated, a cob pipe is a great way to start to see if you like pipe smoking. Prince Albert tobacco isn't a bad one to start with either.

Re: Savinelli Dry System 2622

I don't have any Pete Systems yet; and I do intend to get one this year (hopefully sooner than later) to see how they compare with the Savinelli Dry System.

Re: Billy Budd

Domincan Glory by McClelland is a virginia and cigar leaf blend. They also have a Domincan Glory Maduro, also virginia and cigar leaf. I have only tried the Domincan Glory and like it very much.

Re: 2 Savinelli questions...

To UB83,
To your first question, I ask what do you use to light your pipe? Do not use a torch lighter like you would use for your cigars. I have a few Savinelli's, and none have any blistering or...

Re: Dr.Grabow Pipes

I don't know if it is the biggest; however, the chamber diameter (inside of bowl) on mine is about 7/10ths of an inch and the depth is almost 1 1/2".

Re: Dr.Grabow Pipes

I have the Grabow Omega, the one with the military type push stem. It smokes good. Got a great deal on ebay. I use the Savinelli balsa filter in my Omega. The filter absorbs the moisture nicely.
